Atlanta went 0-17 to start the season but have gone 3-3 since. They have definitely turned things around during that time. Linesmakers are often slow to adjust as they are 4-1 ATS in their last 5. The only negative I see against Atlanta is that this is their 6 road game in a row.

Phoenix is 2-5 in their last 7 and 2-11-1 ATS at home. They played an important game against the Sparks just 2 days ago winning 99-92. I'm thinking they have no need to blow out an up-and-coming Atlanta team especially after expending so much energy against LA earlier this week.

I would be careful with Atlanta in this spot. The team leaders of Phoenix especially Pondexter stressed the importance of winning these two games for their playoff chances.

Atlanta is not just playing their 6th road game in a row, but they are on the back end of a B2B after playing a tough game at Arco Arena. Traveling in & out of Arco in any part of a B2B situation is usually tough on a team.

The only saving grace Atlanta has is playing a Phoenix team with a suspect defense to say the least. If they get blown out at any point, they might pack it in for the night,.

Thanks for the input EGD.

I agree with you in regards to Phoenix wanting to win this one. I just don't think they have the defense to blow teams out. They have only won by 12 or more in 1 of their last 13 games. The only team they won by that margin was this Atlanta team which was a different team back then.

No problem Quantum.

I don't think their defense is the problem, it is actually their offense. They truly miss Penny Taylor who provided a post game but could shoot outside as well. They have Willingham but she is a pure post player. Throw in injuries especially to Tangela Smith & they have needed to rely on Cappie & Diana too much to blow teams out.

I was wondering why they tanked recently going 2-5 SU in their last 7. That would explain it.

Sure seems a lot easier than the NBA doesn't it?

Atlanta down by 14 at the half after falling behind by 16 in the 1st quarter. Hopefully a perfect spot for a backdoor cover if Atlanta is motivated to come back and Phoenix lets them get back in, maybe toward the end after the game is in the bag.
