I may work some during tax season as long as retain my amazing mental capacity :)

seriously, shooting for 65, after putting everything in my life into raising two kids including putting them through private colleges, I have to save some serious money until then to maintain the worry free lifestyle I want to live

and I'm lucky where I can choose to supplement my income working for 3 months or maybe retaining a few key clients after I retire

Did it at 54, getting real bored with gambling, starting a new company next spring. Next question.

Gents, Bang The Living Shit Out of Over in Duke/UNC

Weather is absolutely perfect in North Carolina today, and will continue for the next several days. Neither of these teams would be going to the prom if their date was named Defense. There will be scoring at will, only guns and knives can prevent either team from finding the endzone. I'm hammerin the dogpiss out of the over here, want free money, get in the car. GL

Retirement kills. I retired at age 55. I have had many part time or temp jobs as an "independent contractor" since. You have to keep the mind going, even if the body is slowing down a bit.

+1 THIS, YES. If you are a guy and you just quit working you will die sooner. You need to keep active, keep the mind going for as long as possible. Even if all you do is work as an independent consultant or pick up some odd job you gotta keep working or you die. Period.

Tell me about it. My best friend became a guy by the name of Macallan, that damn near killed me. Now all I do is work out, and that's about to kill me. Hence, doing a start-up in the spring to keep from killing myself, lol.

I am 69 and I gotta do something. Have not slowed down in years. I work out, stay fit, play trivia at BWW. If you are going to do something you might as well get paid for it so I still do my thing. My clientel has built up over the years, my backlog is the biggest I have ever had so I plan to just go with the flow. Having more success wagering on college football than I can remember so my hobbies are just as important as anything I do. I will slow down when I absolutely have to.
