Astros take Wild Card lead with only 3 games left... all 3 at home against lowly rockies who are only 30-47 on the road. I bought Astros at 100/1 less than a month ago !

Hopefully my Braves will put the final nail in the Cubbies Coffin this weekend. The Cubs are the biggest crybabies in baseball.

The big surprise on the Cubs has been the complete non existence of their awesome pitching rotation ! Who would believe that Kerry Wood record of 8-8 and Mark Prior record of 6-4 with a 4.27 era ? Zambrano has been a Superstar but who else is there to fear. Then you have Sammy Sosa batting .250 and striking out 132 times and your Center fielder Corey Patterson Batting .272 but with over 160 strikeouts ! This teams simply scores way too few runs for the talent as strikeouts kill too many rallies.

Remember, yours trully predicted a HOUSTON-BOSTON WS back when the two teams were 2 and 5 games out of the playoffs respectively 2.5 months ago.

I love the Cubs but I have to cover myself money wise and the Cubs simply don't play smart ! They seem to make errors in critical situations and make a lot of mental mistakes. Everybody in baseball has been picking them to win the wild card because of their easy schedule in Sept but look what they have done with playing Cinn. Expos, Pitts, Mets ? Now their easy schedule is over and they finish with 3 games with Braves while Astros have only 3 games left at home with Rockies ! Since Astros have now won their last 15 home games, I give the advantage to Astros. Of course it does help Cubs that Braves have already won their Division and really nothing to play for. Prior on the mound tonight for his last regular season outing so He better be good ! Perhaps it's time for Sosa to get out his corked bat by mistake again ! LOL

grew up by chicago, cubs fan for 35 years, just more of the same dissapointments year in and year out, of course last year and 84 still the most painful years in cubsfans lives.

this year they look uninspired, if they cant beat the mets and reds then just lay the fvk down and "wait til next year"

at least I have the good memory of the cubs knocking out the pvssies from atlanta last year

Cubs are two 0-2 pitches away from a commanding lead. Oh well. But when the Cubs win today then it is a 3-game season tied with Houston (and maybe SF). I believe there will be a playoff Monday, and possibly another Tuesday. I'm predicting a -3way tie. IMO Cubs and Giants win today, and each of them win 2/3 this weekend.

I predict Giants will not be in the mix by Sunday evening. Cubs will have to win 3 out of their last 4 as I don,t see the Astros losing more than 1 at home against the rockies. I really wouldn,t be surprised to see them sweep Rockies at home !
