I've been thinking this must have happened since last night, as the sharp money looks to have murdered the books for the most part, while the public hit many of their plays as well.

That was a good read I found it to be most interesting that he said the early money is on the Vikes....Everyone seems to think that the Saints are the public play here.

Thanks for the link. I knew they got lit up, but confirmation is nice. Hopefully they keep hanging these trash lines. Bears -3.5? Ok. Keep em coming vegas. Unfortunately, it looks as though they may have learned their lesson, as week 6 looks more difficult.

Depends on what your definition of the "public" is. My definition of the average Joe bettor (or public) is the guy who places his bet between 5pm and game time. The only average guy I know that has any money on the MNF game more than 12 hours prior to kick is the guy who puts one of the teams in a parlay or teaser from the day before. Even the average joe bettor doesn't have the patience or forsight to look ahead one day and use a team that plays 30 hours later. That is why so often you see average joe bettor using the same side and total for a teaser....it's easier than making the smartest play on the board. It the action he wants more than the win.
If you consider "everyone" the public then yes it would seem the public is on Minnesota early from the article, but I don't see it that way. Just some thoughts.

Public side is usually the favorite - the number and the over. If you look at wagerline, average sports fans are picking without $ involved. You can still get close to even action if sharps are betting 3x on a dog.

Defenses aren't getting stops this year leading to a slew of overs. Maybe that will change in a few weeks. One converted 3rd down and blown coverage can lead to another 10-14pts scored and 3 minutes left on the clock. Its a game of inches.

I adjust my line... and yeah I got killed with INDY -3.5 but what was I gonna do? If I put HOU + 5 or 6... they take HOU.

I caught their ass and put TENN -3.5

Induced them with BUFF +3

and I couldn't help PITT+3... it was winning regardless--i should have shut that game down. Surprised none of them bet the bears -4

I nearly got caught with CAROLINA UNDER 36 lol.

The general public have been killing it all year. That will change very soon. The "squares" got really lucky this week with Tenn and Indy both winning games they had absolutely no right winning. Sage handed Indy their win and the refs handed Tennessee theirs.

One of the "publics" favorite teams to bet on plays tonight and hopefully their downfall starts with them. New Orleans is as overrated as they come, and shouldn't be able to play with Minny. Hopefully it plays out that way.

I couldnt agree more.. both the Indy and Tennessee lines were sharp lines that got the squares to the window to bet big money on the small road favorites, and neither should have covered, let alone won. Indy got the game handed to them after being dominated for much of the game, and that "blow to the head" call against Baltimore completely changed the outcome of the game.
