Art Carney passed away over the weekend and was buried today on Veterans day. He was 85.
He was also a WWII veteran

As Norton on the Honeymooners he was the Original "Krammer"type character. That many others copied. This guy was a natural. And never had an acting lesson or any lesson. Most of his comedy routines on the Honeymooner he made up himself.

My favorite Honeymooner show was when Ralph was boning-up to win a Name-That-Tune contest and had Norton help him by playing songs on the piano and then Ralph would guess them.
But of course Norton had to play the opening riff of " Way Down Upon the Swanee River" to get his fingers started before he could play the next tune that Ralph was going to guess the name.

He drove Ralph crazy while they were practicing.

And when Ralph got on the show he named every single tune and was doing fantasic and was about to win the BIG prize when he had to guess one more song......So they played it for him to name and it was ...of course Way Down Upon the Swanee River but Ralph couldn't name it and got stumped and LOST!

RIP Art and I'm sure you are cracking them up where ever you are.

Sad to hear. I listed this show in the "my favorite shows" of all time thred just recently.

The episode that sticks in my mind is the one where Ralph and Ed went in together to buy a TV. Of course it ended up in the Kramden apartment, But they couldn't decide what show to watch. Norton comes down with a space helmet and wants to watch Captain Video and the Video Rangers.

Mr.Jones - CAPTAIN VIDEO Time!!!

That was a funnier-than-sh*t skit.

It's SAD that all the orginators are passing away and there is NO new Ideas for shows/skits etc. Everything on the tube these days is just rehashes of what was done in the 50's and 60's.

SO LONG PAL!

The honeymooners will always be my favorite show.

One of Norton's best lines was addressing the ball

HELLO BALL!

krackman, that was an all time great line...Every time I tee off on the first tee thats all I can think of....

All but one of the original cast members are still with us and that would be Trixie...

The Honeymooners is in my Top 5...All In The Family is my undisputed Number 1!!!!
