I hate when people change for no reason other than their team is losing.

Red Sox have always been my baseball team
Cowboys have always been my football team
Whalers were my favorite hockey team but now hockey is dead
Celtics were my favorite team growing up but I hate the NBA now.
I never had a favorite college football team but it is now UCONN
The only one I changed was Georgetown being my favorite College B ball team, it is now UCONN. Bandwagon? Yes, I can't deny it.

Phillies
Eagles
Flyers
Sixers
Penn State
BBall is tough: PSU is 1 (Hail Alma Mater...with your white and blue!), Temple, St. Joe's, Drexel, LaSalle, Villanova, Penn..they're all ok to me.

Tecmo Bowl ,Rbi Baseball and NHL 94 and 95 were the greatest ever.

Christian Okoye was a monster.

Fav teams have always been same Devils,Giants,Mets (although strawberry to LA and then Piazza back to the Mets is the reason why)

Boston College Eagles

I was lucky enough to go to a lot of their games in the early 60's. I saw the late (and great) Ernie Davis play for Syracuse at BC in his senior season when he won the Heismann Trophy. He scored 3 TDs in a big Orangeman win.

Then = Yankees / Now = Yankees
Then = NY Giants / Now = NY Giants
Then = Hartford Whalers / Now = NJ Devils
Then = Boston Celtics / Now = NJ Nets
Then = SU Orangemen / Now = SU Orangemen

sherman, I used to go to the Whalers almost every week. Jimmy Roberts used to give me free tickets all the time, he lived a few houses next door to me for about 10-12 years.....man, I miss those days.

NFL, Raiders and Niners
NBA, Lakers
MLB, Dodgers and Angels
NHL, Caps and Kings
College, UCLA and USC

Go figure, I was born in California (but I only lived there for a few months).

These days, I really don't have "favorite" teams. Some of it is because of gambling. Kind of hard to have a favorite team when you're betting on them to lose by 9+ points.

But it is mostly because of free agency, greed, etc. Players switch teams every 2-3 years, so you can't build any loyalty or history.

I have been a Dolphins fan since 12 years old. Never changed.

I was a Dodger fan as a kid, now I like the Angels.

I was a Celtic fan as a kid, now I hate the NBA.

I have been a University of Hawaii fan most my adult life.

I have always hated hockey.

Never followed baseball, baskets, or hockey much, so I had no favorite teams among those sports, either pro or college...

I did like the Lakers of old when Magic, Kareem, and Worthy were playing....that team faded away, and so did I from basketball...

Big time Steelers fan...grew up watching Bradshaw, Swann, Lambert, Mean Joe Greene, Donnie Shell...I can honestly say I will never have as much passion and emotion for a team since then....since then my passion for the Steelers has waned...if they win or lose, it's all the same whereas before, it would be a big downer if they lost and total elation when they won. Even the superbowl in 92ish against Dallas had little effect on my emotions...they got beat but it wouldn't have effected me that much to see them win.

Times change, and teams change, what with all the free agency and trading and the chase for the dollar going on, if you are a Tennessee fan, just wait about three years and you will have most of the players from another team playing for Tennessee.....in 2008 you will be a Tennessee fan cheering for the 2005 Miami Dolphins.

Maybe time has dulled my enthusiasm of being a fan....when I was young it was all new, now I'm older and I have watched 20,000 more games...its more of an old, dull routine.

Maybe we were all just bigger fans before we started gambling.

Brooklyn dodgers as a kid.

When they moved, they broke my 9 year old heart so bad I have never been able to root for any team the same way ever since. Seriously.

The closest I came was the Mets. They were so bad, they needed all the help they could get - you HAD to root for them. Besides, they had Snider, Hodges and Craig, old Dodgers anyway.

But the series of strikes soured me on major league baseball, so the only teams I really can root for are my alma maters - Woodlands High School, Augustana College and Northwestern.

Rooting for Pro teams now would be like rooting for General Motors and Microsoft - I just can't get emotional about business corporations.
