Eric Donovan usually a very sharp Morning Line maker but he missed one here.
Belmont Park race 3 Number 5 llgiveyouwattever 10-1ML
April 7th this horse broke her maiden for fun in a bottom level 16 claimer. Next race she runs in a State Bred allowance race. She shows speed from the rail then backs out. The horses she raced against this day all but one of them would be sub even money in Todays race. It was like a stakes race compared to todays competitors. Then she runs in a turf race, throw it out. Todays race is her 1st realalistic spot since her maiden win. Her last 2 races look horrible on paper I guess thats how shes so high on the ML.
Why else do I like her?
This field she is facing is very poor. Lets dig alittle deeper.
There are 3 horses in this race that ran on May 19th in a common race in which Wise Choice a horse that never wins was a 1 for 35 or so at that point won. 2 of these 3 horses have came back to run follow up lousy efforts to help support the bad race theory. So I will toss the 1 Kittys Thunder, the 2 Sky Fever and the 6 Montessori.
Next lets look at the 3 Sweet Hearts Kiss. To me she just isnt good enough she will be forwardly placed. If she wires the field then so be it.
Next lets look at the ML favorite Number 4 Up Up Away. This horse had an absolute dream trip in her last race, had no buisness not pressing by the leader. I cant take favorites that blow dream trips especially with this race being an extra furlong. Yea, she closed into a slow pace but she still shoulda won.
Lastly lets look at the 3/1ML second choice Suave Ending. I know its Ramon in the saddle but come on. This horses maiden win was a Maiden 20 claimer in which the foe she defeated Espresso Martini ended up going to Finger Laked to break her maiden. A notorious quitter in deep stretch. I mean she didnt just quit she came to a walk to allow Suave Ending to nip her at the wire. If you can go back and watch this race and listen to the call as Johhny Eyes was quite suprised that Suave Ending got up. Then this horse trys the turf in the same race my horse llgiveyouwattever is coming out of and runs 7th as my horse runs 8th. Yet this horse is 3/1ML.
All in all these are horses with only maiden claiming wins to there credit and anything can happen but llgiveyouwattever at 10/1 ML is very disrespectful. She even gets a jockey upgrade to Jose Lezcano. Maybe Donovan wants to bet this horse to I dont know but this ML is a joke. But, hey Hopefully I will get the 10/1Ml but I doubt it.
