I will admit I'm not much of a book-reader, so I'm not aware of whats out there.

Will we ever see any as big as Harry Potter and Lord Of The Rings?

Is anything out there that could rival them?

The books where I got my name The Dragonlance Chronicles would blow both away if ever made into a movie. I haven't read any of R.A stuff but I heard good things.

King is shopping around trying to get a movie mad of the Dark Tower searis. I can't believe no one is biteing on that but have no problem making a smurfs movie.

The Man of Bronze: Doc Savage. LOL. I read this series as a kid. Actually, I'm really just kidding, but in light of all the recent comic books hero's being made into movies, it might not be that big of a stretch. There was talk of Schwarzenegger playing the role in a movie remake before that governor thing got in the way.
