This is a sad trend and all I am worried about is my 2k bet on Kerry. I could care less if the Country crumbles under him which it will as long as he wins. I think Fishhead and others too are more worried about the bets than the Country.

Gambling has impaired our judgement on how to view Country and World. We are all diseased and should seek help.

I know some posters here that actually have their life savings on Kerry and have told me in private even if we get taken over some day by China they do not care as long as their bets win.

Wow!!!!

Good Luck and go Kerry!!!

JJ GOLD,

That is an excellent question, one which my wife asked me last night after the debate...

Truthfully, I was originally much more concerned about my bet than I was on who the better man for the job was. But the more I listened, read and watched John Kerry, the more I began to TRUST him over BUSH.

I have seen what BUSH has done over his 4 years as President and I am disgusted. Being a staunch Republican doesn't change the fact that I can't stand this President. I am more than willing to give KERRY a chance, and when one just looks at all the mistakes BUSH has made, why not?

I believe KERRY will be better than BUSH for internet gambling, and a PRESIDENT that had NEVER vetoed a bill tells me he is in bed with lots of special interest groups.

Therefore, this is my honest answer and the only time in my life that I am this strong on a DEMOCRAT for PRESIDENT...

JJ,

Some are very radical liberals and do hate America and would like to see Kerry make the country into a big Cuba. Everyone equally dirt poor, on Gov welfare and waiting in line for rationed health care.

Some are just hoping to cash the ticket on Kerry. I cannot believe Fish and the Shrink are this misinformed about politics and believe Kerry is good for our country.

Gameface,

I would BET that I am OLDER than you and hopefully WISER, as age tends to go hand and hand with wisdom, though admittedly, not all the time...

Please don't label me as "misinformed" because I differ from you as to who I believe is the better man for the Presidency... I have been reading and observing these two candidates for months now.

Furthermore, I am a REPUBLICAN who thinks that other than Gerald Ford, there has not been a WORSE REPUBLICAN PRESIDENT in OFFICE since I was born in 1956...

I also happen to know that NO INCUMBENT has EVER been RE ELECTED without WINING at least one of the debates, and this fact was reitterated on ABC news last night...

Debates have always influenced the outcomes of elections, and it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out why KERRY has gained so much in the POLLS after WINNING the first debate decisively...

Apparently, the majority of Americans surveyed after all 3 polls PREFERRED KERRY over BUSH, and I guess they are also "misinformed" according to you...

SHEESH...

For the most part, feel very much the same as Shrinkwrap.

Both candidates bring GOOD and BAD to the table.

Having said that, my rather large wager on this election is probably more important to me personally at this time and i see no problem with that.

I mean, one of the BIG issues being debated is the tax reform right?

Well, my wager on this event means more money in my pocket than any tax reform can provide for me................figure either candidate will screw me one way or the other anyway so my wagering on this event is VERY IMPORTANT to me personally.

This is what i do.......gamble!

Listening to all the debates and being an undecided; I have decided to vote my heart. I don't think either of these two are pro-anti internet gambling, so that's not a consideration. I also, believe that the country as a whole does NOT like one party or the other to have total control.

Frankly--I dislike both candidates. But I dislike Kerry 1% more. Therefore, I vote for Bush. Not an easy choice. But any man that speak of terrorism and illegal gambling in the same sentence--gives a clue as to his leanings. Bush is Not and never will be a good speaker. Kerry blows him away--but -I feel Bush (right or wrong) comes from the heart.

TOUGH CALL!

Shrink, don't expect to reason with Gameface. If you are voting for Kerry against Bush then you are misinformed and you hate America according to Gameface. That is the only way he can process the information. Don't take it personally.

By the way, I have been telling you guys to take KERRY for quite sometime now and FISHHEAD listened to me long ago. Had you done so, even before last night's debate, you'd already have a scalp available...

PINNY is now at the lowest its ever been with BUSH minus 144, Kerry plus 134...

And again, once Americans digest the results of last night's debates, I expect the POLLS to reflect more momentum for KERRY and PINNACLE'S line to drop further...

Shrink,

If you believe Carter was a better than Bush then you are misinformed. Bush was dealt a very difficult hand, possibly the most difficult in our history. Some may disagree how he's handled things after 9-11, but to not even take that into account is narrow. Carter was by far the worst President, the way Carter handled the Iran hostage crisis was a complete embarassment to our country. 20% mortgage rates, fuel lines, do you even remember some homes value crashed to less than 50% value, and much more. Clinton set us up in many of the postisions we are in today ie NK with NUKES and 8 years of the terrorist running amok.

Why is Bush -144 if so many polls have kerry in the lead?
General,

Excellent question. I guess bookies don't watch television or study these so-called "polls." I don't see Fish and Kenny's steamplay on Kerry cashing. Ken, which way is BW playing this one?

I think a lot of the lines are moving because of "public" money. I think without a doubt gamblers are more likely to be Republican so a little odds bias to Bush doesn't surprise me at all.

As for Shrink, I am 100% with you. I am still registered Republican and they come bother me at my house. Even that idiot repeated liberal at least 5 times. There is a simple script all the GOP uses right now and they all repeat it well. Only thing that holds their ship together. If you don't follow the script you must be some whacky liberal regardless of your base stances and past voting history. Gameface is just following that script.

As a citizen who has had not one but two Kerry stickers on the back of my pick-up truck since the stickers were first issued, I am more than happy by the recent turn of events.

As a gambler who had a mere few dollars on Kerry until having a couple of drinks with and listening to argueably the best gambler in the state of Florida early last week down here in north Tampa, I am elated to have added 20 times that the following day.

However just as I have separated the two above paragraphs, I can also separate the great issue of selecting a president and wagering on one.

I am older than most here and my political views have been forged over a lifetime. As the years go by my choice to involve myself in the peace effort of the late 60's has been proven to be the correct choice. Early in the 70's, I was well aware of who John Kerry was. He was to me a heroic figure who had the balls to take a stand against the masters of war back then. By no means could anyone have forseen his actions at that time to be any kind of roadmap to an eventual run for the presidency.

The man has balls. The man has integrity. The man is extremely intelligent. The president does have one of those three qualities himself. That much I'll give him.

SHRINK, MR. BUSH HAS BEEN AN EXEMPLARY PRESIDENT. I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT WHEN YOU SAY HE HAS MADE MISTAKES. HE HAS RESTORED INTEGRITY TO THE OVAL OFFICE AFTER CLINTON TURNED IT INTO A VERITABLE WHOREHOUSE. HE HAS TAKEN THE FIGHT TO TERRORISTS IN BOTH IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN AFTER CLINTON ALLOWED THEM TO ORGANIZE AND PLOT TO KILL AMERICANS, WHICH THEY DID ((ABOUT 3000 ON SEPTEMBER 11, 2001)) IN CASE YOUVE FORGOTTEN. MR BUSH HAS REVITALIZED A SLUGGISH ECONOMY THAT HE INHERITED FROM CLINTON-GORE. HE HAS HELPED PEOPLE OF ALL RACES AND AND ALL AGES AND OF BOTH GENDERS SUCCEED IN BUSINESS AND WITH HOME OWNERSHIP AND HEALTH BENEFITS AND HAS GIVE TAX BREAKS TO EVERYONE! MR BUSH CAME TO WASHINGTON AND WALKED INTO A HEAP OF TROUBLE, LARGELY BECAUSE MR CLINTON WAS PAYING TOO MUCH ATTENTION TO FAT-ASSED INTERNS AND HIS SUBSEQUENT LEGAL TROUBLES THAN TO THE PROBLEMS IN THE WORLD. THESE ARE ALL FACTS. I WILL NOT RESORT TO CALLING YOU NAMES OR SAYING YOU ARE DELLUSIONAL. BUT PLEASE, PLEASE RECONSIDER EVERYTHING THAT HAS HAPPENED TO OUR COUNTRY OVER THE LAST DECADE AND GO OUT AND VOTE FOR MR. BUSH. IT WILL BE A WISE CHOICE FOR THE GOOD OF OUR NATION AND FOR THE SAFETY OF OUR FRIENDS IN ALL PARTS OF THE WORLD. MR KERRY IS NOT FIT FOR THE PRESIDENCY. HE IS SOFT ON NATIONAL SECURITY AND IS A VERY LIBERAL ((DANGEROUS)) SENATOR. HE DIDNT EVEN VOTE TO GIVE OUR BOYS MONEY DURING COMBAT. WHY IN THE WORLD DID HE CHOOSE "NO" ON THE $87b? THAT IS AWFUL. I WAS EMBARRASSED TO SAY MR. KERRY IS A FELLOW AMERICAN AFTER THAT "NO" VOTE. I URGE YOU AND ALL AMERICANS TO MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE AT THE POLLS ON NOVEMBER 2. THERE IS NOT A BETTER CANDIDATE THAN MR BUSH. LOOK INSIDE YOUR HEART AND MAKE THE RIGHT CHOICE. MY SAFETY AND YOURS IS AT STAKE!!!
