But yesterday had some company and the Wife says, Pick up a entenmann's Cake of some kind because we don't usually have Cake in the house.

That Sucker is A Lot smaller and thinner than I remember... Still cost like $6

Maybe all these food companies are looking out for all the Americans who are overweight? Fat chance. It's all about the bottom dollar.

oh yeah, definitely its a sneaky way of raising the price / without raising the price.

I see it when I follow recipes, itll say a 12 oz of ___ and the thing you bought it 10.5 oz...

Most recently, I noticed it with tuna.. this is was a 2 oz difference..

Lots of things are smaller. A writer did a story on it not too long ago that some of his recipes are getting screwed up because cake mixes that used to be 32 oz are now 28 oz, and so on.

Ice cream has gone from 1/2 gallon to 1.75 qts to 1.5 qts.

Where I used to be able to make 2 tuna melts from one can, the cans are down to 5 oz, and that ain't enough anymore.

The cardboard roll that toilet paper comes on has gotten larger. I noticed that one, and compared it to one I still had on my shelf. Big difference.

Even a loaf of bread is getting smaller. The discount bread at Kroger's was always a dollar, and then it went up to $1.25. No big deal. Then, it dropped back down to a dollar again. Got it home, took it out, and the size of the loaf was tiny, barely peeked out of the toaster. Bullshit.

Blue Bell Ice Cream is still a Half Gallon, and boy is it worth it!

But yes, everything is shrinking but the price and the bellies of those consuming said products. Sad but true. Murica...

Might just consider ourselves lucky.

Standard practice is sometimes..... higher cost, less quantity, piss poor quality, and NO customer service.

This is the grand plan. Raise prices and increase the rate at which corps pump out low quality sugar coated products while convincing the public they need to upgrade to them(Iphone). Need help with that product? Google or call India. Gradually push the middle class into the lower poor class. Continue to widen the gap to ensure it stays that way. End game is the return of slavery that is not based on color of skin.

grocery stores are always doing 2 for 4$ cereal and the box is less than half the size of a normal box of cereal... You must look at the price per unit of these things to get through these scams they run :smoking:

Yep... and chips have been the most obvious through the years.

Those bags that used to be "Big Grab" have shrunk & shrunk, while the price has gone up...

I have noticed my local supermarket which is great on prices compared to the other supermarket chains in the area has gone up quite a bit in the last 6 months or so. Everything seems to have gone up 15 or 20 cents for each dollar spent no matter where I shop. That's a 15 to 20% ncrease which a lot of people don't seem to notice.
I have always checked unit prices on everything I buy. People don't realize sometimes it is cheaper buying the smaller size of the product whereas you usually figure you buy large bulk size you always get it cheaper. not so necessarily. I attribute the increases to the cost of transporting all these products cross country and as diesel and gas prices have skyrocketed it is all passed on to the consumer.
