From Sportscenter's Cris Mortensen, Archie says Eli would be better off in New York (where else). More to come later.

not to get off subject here but, could you post a 'lookalike' photo of Woody Allen and Archie Manning??

Not alot of Archie Manning references, this could rival my Bob Brenly / Bill Cowher 'lookalikes'

Everytime I see Archie in the stands with those headphones on I think of Woody Allen...

Thanks Wil

Phillip Rivers will be a better NFL QB than Eli Manning.

In fact, I'm not sure if Manning would even be able to beat out the immortal doug flutie. Holy shvt, I gotta quit drinking, I'm starting to sound like Railbird.

I have to agree with you on that comment. I don't think Eli stands a chance.

#1 You cannot argue with his genes..

#2 You cannot tell me Archie doesn`t look like Woody Allen (Woody younger years)

Am I the only one pissed off by this?

I don't give a damn about either team, but why the hell should freaking Archie Manning be able to decide the draft order?

Those who think Eli will be the next Elway are right on so far!

JDav,

Don't get me wrong, he's not overmatched (okay maybe when he's playing LSU with his Ole Miss teammates), to me he's just not worhty of top pick or even top QB.

JMan, he does have the genes, but so does George W. Bush and I don't even wanna have to move this thread to the Politics section.

Roethlisberger is the best QB in the draft..imho..Rivers has a slow and awkward delivery, but nice touch on fades?

If I was Archie, I wouldn't want my kid in Charger gear, as despite being a great city, the Chargers keep tough company with Denver & Oakland in the division, plus the Spanos have fumbled around for quite a spell now.

Eli was very inconsistent for most of his career, but came on his senior campaign, yet still missed many easy throws at times, yet definitely stepped up his leadership & toughness ratings.

If he were to become a Giant, he would be in marquee tv market, in the primo division in the League(even when it's down a bit, like now), it still draws the ratings.

If the G-Men get going, the NFC East with Wash and Dallas' re-emergence, plus Philly as a threat..is gonna get back to it's glory of past thirty years.

Giants should pull all the stops to get manning. Of course being already sold out for the season doesn't give them much incentive. Still the city would go nuts if they somehow managed to move up, and draft Eli.

Rivers has the best feet, and a quick release, arm slots are overrated, just move the chains. Giants qbs dont get exposed, becasue they max protect, play fake and dont throw much. Eli would be exposed for the fraud he is in Sandiego and Archie is smart enought to realize it. I for one believe Archie was better than either of his sons.

Rail, with Rivers, it just seems like his "shotput" motion will telegraph INTs at the Pro level?

Eli doesn't have Peyton's accuracy, despite having the ability to make the same great darts as his brother, just nowhere near as consistent..constantly overthrew 2 to 4 easy big completeions per game most of his career.

Roethlisberger has an NFL arm, but not the mobility.

I love football more than anything ..well almost. I really hate to see crap like this ..when a guy thinks he can pick where he wants to go. This is not the regular world for everyday Joes .....they make fantasy money now and should be grateful for that. Please save the "this is a fee country "stuff ....they need to make a rule ....if a player balks, it is 4 years until they can come back in the draft. This is a league and they make the rules .....it is not an individuals right to work in this league. ......total BS

Who the hell is Eli Manning????
Because his overrated brother is already in the league and finally won 2 playoff games against teams with no defenses he thinks he can say where he goes? I hope the Giants do not get him. I'd rather have Big Ben.

Chargers should draft him on spite.
