ARAB/OIL BLACKOUT DAY SET 05/19! DO IT!

By now many of you should be recieving e-mails from friends and family on NOT BUYING 1 DROP GASOLINE thruout the Wed. 5/19 this week.



People try to this this fill up on tuesday at 2.35 and then pay 2.65 on thursday.

I personaly like the idea of doing the blackout day on Saturdays as stations are open longer hours and have more hired help on weekends instead of the week.



Spread the word! Victory in the middle east----March ON. I want their oil and land.You can bury them in their belongings.

You fvckin idiot, if gas goes to 4-5.00 range, what does that do the airplane prices,milk prices,cheese prices,new car prices,etc.........Drive them up so they have a excuse to raise the prices.When all this sh*t happens, it is just another reason to HATE ALL ARABS/MUSLIMS/DISHWASHERS.Put them in their mosque and lock it up so they can never get out to HARM anybody anymore.

I am sorry, but damn I can't stop laughing at this. These boycotts are insanely stupid and yet I read about a new one almost annually.

Do you people even know how much oil we buy from the Middle East by the way? I will just say it is a LOT less than you think. Most estimates come in around 20%. Not that 20% isn't important when we don't get it, but we get most of our oil from domestic sources along with oil from Mexico and Venezuela. Last count I remember, maybe from about 3 years ago was about 13% came from Saudi Arabia and 4% from Kuwait with the rest of the Persian Gulf states coming in at about 2% combined. That 13% from Saudi is less than what we get from Mexico or Venezuela so please stop making me laugh and put these silly "we are going to get these guys this time" emails to rest. The ignorance of the true numbers just makes them look so stupid.

Wil makes an important point. See the following link for a list of oil companies that DO buy oil from the Middle East. There are several companies that do NOT and if you want to boycott, I'd suggest filling up at their service stations.

Most convenience stores are either independently owned small businesses or parts of state or regional area chains. Avoiding them on Saturdays because of typically increased labour costs doesn't do anything to the Middle East; it just punishes American entreprenuers and employees.

While I would never wish any permanent harm on you, I sincerely hope that one day one of your kids is put in a life-threatening situation and is saved by a person of Arabic descent. Then you can tell him what a piece of shit he is to his face.

My comments in this thread are somewhat germane to this topic.

Also, if you want to "do something" about rising gas costs, how about see if your local area is covered at GasBuddy.com and if not, sign up and contribute something positive for a change.

Just out of curiosity, what about for example an American-born person who is the child of Kuwaiti immigrants, goes to high school, has whatever an afternoon job at his dad's store, makes decent grades, hopes to make the basketball team, is a Muslim and strongly opposed to Israel's handling of the Gaza situation. This kid, he's just too damned brown and prays too many times a day for your tatses and should be killed, is that correct?

Chances are America has probably saved this kid, or at least some of his parents friends kids living still in Kuwait, from death once during Gulf War I. So no, that would not be correct.
