You could buy a slingbox and watch them that way. I don't have one but others that do think it's slick.

You basically throw your cable to your remote PC.

For $50 fee, would it really matter it was a scam?

But really all you have to do is buiy a slingbox

$50 isn't money to you??? of course it matters if it is a scam... and I don't want scammer to get hold of my cc information... and as far as slingbox goes, if you used it before, can you answer my question above for me if you don't mind?

Yes they can watch different channels.

But it would be easier for them to watch the TV using a different TV within your house while you use the slingbox.

If you are using the slingboxc, then make sure that they watch a different TV

if you get the slingbox pro or the new one they just came out with, you can watch whatever you want on the tv, and watch a different channel on your pc, or supported mobile phone...I have a slingbox 'tuner' (they dont make it anymore)...i run the cable from the wall to the slingbox, then from the slingbox to the cable box, then to the tv...works like a charm...keep in mind, only one device can access the slingbox at a time...either your PDA phone or computer...

I have a slingbox although I dont use it as much as I used to its still fantastic to have and you can watch it anywhere you can catch a decent signal including on your palm or certain phones. You cannot run it from the same output somebody at the source is using for their tv, otherwise you are a slave to what they are watching. Have it hooked up in a spare bedroom or whatever, you need to have it run into a router anyways. If you like watching your local TV/ sports / news whatever its extremely convenient and worth the cost of the unit.

so slingbox solo doesn't let you watch different channel on pc?

no the slingbox solo does not allow you to watch something different...you watch whatever is on that tv, now you can control that tv remotely, but the box and tv are using the same tuner....

the slingbox pro has it's own tuner, so it allows you to watch one thing on ithe slingbox and another on the tv....also the new high end slingbox is the same....

I was able to find the slingbox 'tuner' online for 89 bucks shipped...but they are getting harder to find...just get the slingbox pro...it does HD and everything...dont get the SOLO, you HAVE to hook it up to a digital box, and it controls the tv....the pro can be plugged directly into a cable outlet.

can you use the laptop and record the shows to your laptop using sling Pro>?

I have a DVR and likes to copy some of those mickey mouse shows for my daughter while I'm on the road or at Atlantic City. but never figure how to copy the shows off my comcast HDTV DVR.

if some one could provide links, would much appreciated.

it will record on your home dvr you can access it at any time

slingbox is very good - you just need one box that no-one will use if your not there.

so you get a window and a picture of your comcast remote - you operate the remote with your mouse - its that simple
