The buy-in down here is a ridiculous $100(state law).........but having said that, it is not uncommon to have at least 2-3 or more individuals with $1000 stacks at a table.
It sucks when you buy-in, you just have to hope you double up quickly so that you can at least compete on a somewhat more even playing field.
The rake is ridiculous here also, $5 max..........even in the 1-2 games. On top of that, they offer no comps(not even free drinks)............this is not a place to make a living playing poker, but it does offer the decent player to profit some pocket change over the longhaul while entertaining themselves.

Fisher - I was there late last night for a bit, should have called but you never call me back anyway. As for the buy-in I do what everyone does, save my chips and slip them on the table next time I come back. On dealer changes is a good time to get chips from pocket to table. Buying in for a buck and facing several big stacks is too much like gambling for me.

Damn, I was at the Hard Rock today for lunch--met some people at the Green Room, but didn't wander back to the tables. I had to get back for a conference call.
