My friend showed me this site. Its like fantasy sports betting and I guess it is legal because the IUGIEA doesnt include sports betting.

You get $10 free for signing up and the person who signed you up gets $10 free. I dunno if I'm posting this in the right part of the site but I signed up since its free (although I probablly won't use it until football since the juice is -120)

This is awesome. Just signed up. They take paypal.

Just what I need to gamble without gambling.

Its basically fantasy baseball for 1 day instead of for the whole season.
You have a 35K SC that you have to pick 9 players. You get matched up against a random team. If your team scores more points then the other team you win the money for that day.

you can play 5 to win 9
10 to win 18
50 to win 90
or 109 to win 200

You get paid out through your PP account.

Heavy juice, but its fun

The juice -120 is a drag but its still a cool idea. Although I do wonder how long they get away with skirting the UIGEA the way they have. I mean it is a P2P gambling site basically...

No it's 1 day fantasy leagues. There is an exemption in the law that allows fantasy sports to be legal.

Paypal would never touch it if it were not legal.

Hey guys. I just stumbled across this thread. I work for Fanduel - if you have any questions, feel free to email me at alex@fanduel.com.

Addressing a couple of the items in this thread, the reason it's legal is that UIGEA has a specific carve-out for fantasy sports. They're legally defined as 'games of skill' rather than 'gambling'.

I know the -120 juice on many contests looks pretty brutal to sports bettors, but there are plenty of people overcoming it and making money. We published some data on the number of winners above certain dollar threshholds a while back, and will update that at some point. I think the reason it's possible to overcome higher rake is that the market is WAY less efficient than sportsbooks. Rather than beating a somewhat accurate opening line or a very accurate closing line, all you need to beat is the schlub you're playing against.

yea based on my 1st game, the player I went against was not too sharp.
I went against someone who played Brian McCain today when it was common knowledge that he would not play today.
He gets a zero right off the bat so basically I get 9 players to his 8. I hope they are all this easy.

I have a question. Do you pay with paypal instantly?

I have used fanduel quite a bit and for the most part I like it alot. One minor complaint is that they have players listed that have been on the DL forever. Not a big deal, but kind of annoying. My handle on the site is beernut. I'd be happy to give any of you guys a game - although probably for low stakes.

why would that piss you off?

I think its great.
Let the idiot you play against put Buster Posey in there lineup if they want. Why do you want to make life easier on your competition?

I signed up for this site in early July but I hadn't actually used it until this weekend for NFL.

The site is really cool, basically its just weekly FF leagues. No worrying about injuries, waiver adds, getting stuck with some bust for 16 weeks. I won 133.76 to 133.38 vs some guy who had Pettegrew on MNF and I needed to fade 12.3pts he got 11.9. I don't really like the H2H stuff I like the big leagues where you can win 9x your $ or so. The juice is a bitch (I guess there is another site out there offering 8% instead of 10% juice I might give it a try later)

Anyway if anyone does wanna join and use my referral code I'd get a free $10 (you would too. It is fun as hell and definitely more beatable than sports betting.... http://www.fanduel.com/?invitedby=averybradley&cnl=da
