Tampa Bay +1.23 over TORONTO (7:05 PM)
Scott Kazmir of the Devil Rays is without doubt going to be one of the top lefthanders in the business. This kid can flat out pitch. With each outing, Kazmir has performed sharper than the last and in his last game, at Fenway, he limited the Red Sox to just one run and four hits in seven innings. Get used to lines like that from Kazmir. The only knock on him is that he does not have great command yet, however, that appears to be getting better too. He’s faced the Red Sox twice, the Orioles once and opened the year against this Blue Jay team, allowing just three hits and one run in five innings. In total, against some rather impressive bats, Kazmir has allowed just 19 hits in 22 innings. The Blue Jays also have an impressive young lefty going tonight in Gustavo Chacin. However, this is not about him. This is taking back a tag on a great young pitcher with nasty stuff in a game in which he can surely win. The Blue Jays are struggling with just one win in their past six games and just two wins in their past nine. Situation and price are both right and we’re on it. Play: Tampa Bay +1.23 (Risking 1.5 units).
