Anyone else think the Titans +1300 to win the AFC South is a good bet?

Indy is a small favorite, Jax a small underdog. Tennessee is a good team that went 10-6 last year and was among the best at running and stopping the run last year. They probably aren't quite as good as the Jags or Colts but funny things happen in the NFL and at +1300 on a 10 win team, this just seems like an easy bet to make. Anyone with me?

The Texans aren't bad either. They went 8-8 without their starting QB, RB, Stud WR and with a weaker line last year.

If Peyton Manning is hurt, you bought yourself some good odds. If Manning plays, it is probably wasted money.

i have tennessee as dead last in their conference this season. this team has been winning with their defense ONLY for the past two seasons and i believe they can only get worst this season. teams that win with defense and defense ONLY usually have good seasons in a row and then they collapse like baltimore, tampa, chicago in recent years. last year they had the worst offense in their division. houston's offense almost doubled their 2006 production last season, and they improved defensively as well. They will be better than Tennessee. And so will Indiana with their offense and Jacksonville with their running game. They may not finish dead last, but with their QB's I give them not more than 5% of chance to win the division. Their schedule looks easier on paper than in reality.

Tennessee IMO is going to have a very disapointing year. I don't see them winning more than 7 games.

The Colts aren't losing the division unless Manning gets hurt for the season. Jacksonville is a little overrated IMO, and I really love Tennessee's defense, but no way is a team led by Vince Young winning arguably the toughest division in football. The Titans have a top 5 defense, but their offense is in the bottom 5. Not a dependable runner on the team yet, although White could end up being one. They have no threats at WR, and although Young is a fan favorite, he is still one of the worst QB's in the league.

You have yourself value there with how good the defense is, but more often than not value turns into wasted money.

They had the worst offense in their division but it was far from a poor effort as they ran the ball at will against most teams. Super Bowl teams do two things every year; they run well and they stop the run. Titans can do both.

The offense isn't bad as they run the ball as well as almost anyone. Young obviously can't throw but the running game moves the chains. I've seen lesser offenses do more (Baltimore with Dilfer).

Big and mobile quarterbacks usually don't last whole season (McNabb,Vick,Cultpepper,McNair, Leftwich, maybe Vince Young..so on)
Key factor is only Jeff Fisher who can bring an A game. Tenn 9-7 waiting for wildcard

Leftwich is one of the least mobile QBs in the league. McNair hasn't been mobile in years. Just a note.

jake take the bet... i would not have a position on jax or indy but def on the texans and the titans...

1. anything can happen and often does
2. VY has had little talent around him in his short stint in the NFL and even tho they did not do much to make the team better he is going to improve over time. this will be his third year and while he may never pan out he has an uncanny knack for winning close games and they will have the talent on D to get short fields and the running game to control time of possesion.

obviously they should not win the division but i like the price.

Maybe a little value in it but the only chance is if manning goes down with an injury IMO

Leftwich is mobile? Wow, I must have been watching a different QB than you. Leftwich is slower than a snail. Because he's black he's mobile? He's probably the slowest QB in the NFL.

Would not feel real confident hedging my bet on Vince Young and Kerry Collins leading the helm of that ship. Really like their running game with White/Johnson but WR's leave a lot to be desired.

Best I can see is 9-7, maybe 10-6 and that's with everyone staying healthy.

Good Luck throughout the season....

Huh...?

Newsflash: McNair retired. Leftwich will be a statue and get mashed in Pittsburgh for that reason, as he was in Jax and Atlanta.

Did you see Vince Young's play against Oakland? If the receiver was running, you can forget about a completion! He sucks! If he's not being babysat by Norm Chow, forget it!

But go ahead and take Vince Young and the Titans. If you hate money, that is...:smoking:
