Dante,

You are on the wrong side here , yes Dartmouth has been playing OK, BUT the last 3 against Penn:
Penn (-12) 68 @ Dartmouth 44
Penn (-17) 81 @ Dartmouth 59
Dartmouth (+22) 49 @ Penn 67

Penn should crush Dartmouth today, only my opinion buddy!

One thing I always think about while capping games is what does Vegas want me to do with the line? A line like this just Scream "18 is too many", but I am not buying it. Vegas wants us to take the points in hope of Dartmouth not getting blown off the court. Tonight I think there are many better games on the board to cap then to take part in this game!!!

Good Luck Dante whatever you decide to do. Penn 1st H could be worth a 2 look.

Since I work (Boston) and live (Providence) in Ivy League cities, I do have a feel for both teams.

Dartmouth is offensively challenged

Penn is NOT a patient offense. They will jack up 3's and they are not as disciplined (offensively) as the rest of the Ivy League schools.

If Penn hits their shots, there is no way Dartmouth covers. If they miss, it could be a 5 point game.

Summary: Dartmouth will not cover by "scoring" - they will only cover if they "play defense" and can get Penn to miss shots.

Chances of a backdoor cover are slim to none - the game will have to stay close for Dartmouth to have any chance at all of covering. It is very similar to the Purdue-Illinois game last night (where Purdue had to keep it close because Illinois jacks up shots and Purdue can't keep the pace) and totally different from the Louisville-Charlotte game (where Charlotte had to keep pace offensively).

Do I think Penn will miss enough shots to keep it close? I wouldn't bet on it when they're playing in their own building. On the other hand, the Penn-Princeton weekend is the biggest weekend of the year for the rest of the Ivy, so Dartmouth will be ready to play.

cincy_hugg hit the nail on the head! No way would I bet Dartmouth. If I played this game it would definitely be Penn. That being said, the under may be the best play in this game. :103631605

read this at wagerline just now

Dartmouth is playing its best ball of the season right now, as it has posted five consecutive wins to move to 7-5 in league play. The last three victories have come by a total of five points, including Saturday's 53-52 decision over Yale. Considering that the Big Green finished 1-13 in Ivy action a year ago, the fact that the squad already guaranteed itself a .500 league slate is a major accomplishment

2 write-up for Dartmouth

For Friday take the Big Green at Penn

The Penn Quakers are by far the cream of the crop in the Ivy League and have once again proved that this season as they are headed to the NCAA tournament but with the berth already in hand they will not have the motivation to bury a much improved Dartmouth team today.

The Big Green was a joke last season. They routinely would score in the 40's and get buried game after game. But things have totally improved this season. They are 10-15 overall and an amazing 7-5 in the conference. That mark puts them much ahead of Princeton which is just whacked.

The Big Green is still not exactly an offensive machine but they play great defense and find ways to get it done. They have actually won five in a row and have a matter of revenge here as they lost 68-44 at home to the Quakers on February 5th.

I do not see Penn really caring that much today as they have sewed up everything there is to be sewn up. They are not exactly going to be taking a perennial cellar dwellar that seriously but Dartmouth will show their improvement today and stick around from whistle to whistle.

Well, it’s Friday night and that means it’s time to turn our attention to the Ancient Eight. Tonight in Philly, I’m going to grab all the points I can get as I see Dartmouth staying inside this huge number at Penn.

I just wonder how motivated the Quakers will be considering they’ve already clinched the Ivy crown and its automatic bid to the Big Dance. Dartmouth on the other hand has a lot to play for after winning five straight games (4-1 ATS) to forge into a tie for second in the conference standings. First-year coach Terry Dunn has done a fabulous job with the Big Green.

Dartmouth shoots the three-ball well (38 percent) and they’ve covered five of their last six at Penn.. They’ve also covered nine of their last 11 as a road pup of 12½ or more points. Meanwhile, the Quakers are on spread slides of 2-4-1 overall and 0-2-1 at home. They’ve also failed to cover in 12 of their last 15 as a home chalk of 12½ or more points.

Penn is the only league team Dartmouth hasn’t beaten this season. The Big Green laid an egg last month at home against Penn, but that came one night after upsetting Princeton. The Big Green won’t be flat tonight and they’ll easily stay inside this number.
