Well, it would have been to have never left in the first place. But what's done is done. (from a practical/resigned surrender viewpoint of the matter).
The best way to assure their safe return is to pull out now. Get out. Regime change begins at home. That is practical. That is not the deluded vision of american emperors. Regime change from without is a dream. (Imagine if someone desired to change our regime...agree with bush or not, we'd all fight the invader.)
Save what is left of our dignity and respect.
But I do fear that for a long time after this, america will be the object of the silent hatred from the majority in this world.

I'm not sure why the concept of "no war = no US military casualties = full support of their lives" is so difficult for certain people to grasp.

There is an equal motivation of protest to stop future "preventive" wars from occuring (which would stop our troop from combat).

Support can come in many forms depending upon your poitical beliefs and definition of support (i.e., immediate short-term or sustaining long-term)
So those of us who opposed this intervention, can and have been assisting the families of those in theater, families with needs to cope and be of help when needed. Alot of moms and children left here at home with some 200,000+ troops overseas. We help with stuff like picking kids up, watching them, shopping, assisting with household chores/duties, yardwork, and lend emotional support.

Realistically speaking. WE cannot begin to speak in terms of reality. We stand watching madmen in DC acting out their dreams and wishes, not our dreams, not our HOUSE is that which they seek to repair.

I support the troops by contacting my elected officials and demanding a swift victory and letting the "troops" do what they do best... kill people and blow-up stuff. Face it guys! That *IS* what troops do best.

Sorry but nothing realistic has been said by the prowar camp except the blind endorsement of the status quo. This is just as realistic as the view seen from the left.
