It has been a busy two days for the crew at BetPanam. We have had parades, concerts, parties, fireworks, and a flood of customers eager to join in the fun by participating in our Centennial Bonus special.

This morning, we have been inundated by requests from customers who are still trying to get money to us and want to take advantage of the special promotion.

Therefore, we have decided to extend the Centennial Bonus until 9:00PM tonight. This is your LAST chance to get in on our 20% signup and 10% reload bonuses. We are happy for those that have taken advantage of the bonus, but make no mistake about it - we are a reduced juice operation. We are not for the bonus watchers.

Our goal is to provide value every day to our customers. So good luck to all that came aboard over the last few days. And much continued success to those that have been with us.

Thanks,

Scotty

This is a great one-time offer (unless you happen to around after 36,498 more days to celebrate the 200 year special)

Of course the SHRINK owns this book, so I guess that he will stand up for it

They were smart to make this offer now. They opened up right at the buzzer of the football season and most were already set for the season. Now people can get in at a 20% bonus and get some value.

How come GA offering 20% was a way to prop up their failing book, but PanAm offering 20% is value? I believe one of the mods said it best...stay away from any book offering 20% bonuses if you don't want to get stiffed.

Logically, drunkguy's argument is irrefutable. If we are constantly being told that 20% and greater bonuses should be viewed as warning signs as in the case of GA, why on earth would anyone not consider it a warning sign for Panam???

you have a great point Jazz,

I think betpam just did it for 2 days, but.... I personally said, as drunkguy posted, I am not going to play with any book that offers OVER 20% bonuses, wherever they advertise or don't advertise ..thats strictly my opinion and feelings on the matter

"SMALL,SMALL % of your bank roll I think it is a pretty good deal especially since they have opinionated lines as well as reduced juice.Just like any other bet, it is just that a bet.

Thanks, Dante, but drunkguy is the one who made the point, I was just agreeing - but the point here would be, how could we know that 2-day bonus offer wasn't being given because Panam needed a temporary infusion of cash and wanted to see if it would help? We the players can't know for a certainty.

Hanover made a point in a topic today that if you're playing offshore, you're already accepting a certain amount of risk - the key question is how much risk are you willing to assume for the reward? I'll say this - mine has gone down since the GA incident to where '2 day only' offers of a 20% bonus simply register on my radar screen and I just advise everyone to steer clear of them. I edited this to let you know that I don't join books anyway for the bonuses, so my risk level was already low anyway, and that's what saved me from GA.

Especially when that 2-day only turns into a 3-day only...

let me guess, they were giving away SO MUCH cash, they just needed to give away more? No way

they didn't get enough cash over the two days, so they extend it to get the post-up money they need

great points all around and comments guys We have to use our own judgement when we see these things. We never know that is the sad truth. 20% is the cutoff in my mind though its when it goes OVER that im not even touching the book. I would prefer books give no more then 10% maybe some reduced vig... and follow oly and pinny's example...keep in mind guys im just a square hobby type bettor. but this is the way im viewing it

They never offer these types of bonuses

GA was sponsoring 49 contests, offering 50% and up matchplays, vig of -105 on Tuesdays and Fridays, continuous bonuses, etc. Everytime you turned around, they were offering something.

Once again I find myself agreeing with drunkguy - come on, INUNDATED with requests? Since when would a sportsbook be unable to accommodate all comers for a bonus offer? I'm not knocking the sportsbook, but if they are getting 'inundated', they're attracting a very unsavory crowd and they seem HAPPY about it - what kind of sense does THAT make?

I understand everyone's concern given the Gambler's Avenue debacle, but if I were Bet Pan Am, I don't think I'd come in here again to offer a GENEROUS bonus for a very limited time!

It's just not worth it to see a good name get tarnished for no valid reason...

Some of you are ruthless and unreasonable.

Although a relatively new sports book, Bet Pan Am is well funded and managed. Most ot their employees came from the AMERICAN component of Royal Sports, which at that time, was one of the ELITE sports books in the industry.

I recently visited with them and I was so impressed that I not only put myself into this book but I actually put some of my family and friends there, including my 20 year old NEPHEW!!!

Again, I feel sorry for some of you who have nothing better to do than BASH good people just because they are new.

To date, BET PAN AM has received nothing but praise and since I was privy to their HUGE bankroll, I will continue to play there and trust them with 6 figures!

As I mentioned on a prior thread, there aren't many sports books I would trust with that amount of money...

PAN AM is one of them!

just a thought. maybe people called b/c their money had not deposited in neteller yet b/c of the short notice of the offer. i am saying this without knowing it they pay instant eft fees. just a possibility. but a good thought to keep in mind with anyone you send hard earned money to caveat emptor

As I said, I'm not knocking the book, but I personally would be very happy if books stopped offering these kind of bonuses.

Since I'm not ruthless, I know your comment was directed elsewhere - but, failure for one to learn from the past dooms one to repeat the same mistakes in the future. Meaning, what assurance is there that you weren't lied to by this book, shown a different set of books?

The point is that Panam is very most likely on the up-and-up - I'm not trying to start a rumor or bad-mouth Panam in particular - they just happened to be offering this bonus at a time when another book went down the shitter and you, Shrink, said you were bamboozled by GA. What I AM trying to do is apply critical examination to every book equally beforehand, and I would encourage everyone else to do the same.

Reminds me of the phone calls from the stockbrokers-I got all my family in it, etc.etc. The most typical sales talk bullshit. I see nothing ruthless or unreasonable in this thread, though Shrink's statements comes the closest.
