Today in Atlanta a sad story, Andre Rison had to borrow money from his family and lawyer to meet his first payment requirement on more than $100K in child support arrears. Once the highest paid receiver in the league he is now flat broke. He was released an hour ago and is flying to Michigan to try out for an Arena League team...his highest salary in the CFL was $60K...How's that for Chis Berman's "Bad Moon Rison."

I don't know Jman..the uneducated thing is one of the reason...I blame NCAA for this. I am looking for the total amount he made during his 12 year career and will post later. Thats why you need a reputable agent that knows the athlete is inexperienced in money management and can recommend a professional to help them. I vote for Arliss Michaels.

The girl's name was Left Eye (Lisa Lopez) and she died in a car wreck a couple years back. Unbelievable how some of these athletes carelessly squander millions with nothing to show for it at the end.

At first I was going to say his agent is partially to blame but reconsidered that by one important factor, he is a freaking man and has no one to blame but himself. This is not like Gary Coleman and his parents blew his money away. hopefully this will serve as a lesson for others who are put in that situation. Funny it seems the ones with the most blew it the fastest. I know personally and through friends several NFL players and the ones who have the $550k contract and etc. are the most frugal people that we know.

I have played blackjack with alot of nba and nfl players and let me tell you most of these guys dont have a clue as to what is going on all they have is alot of money and blow it like nobodys business. Plus the fact they have a big entourage following them around that are with them until they go all in. I remember years ago i played baccarat a # of times with Lenny Dykstra and he would be spitting tobacco on the floor and spitting markers on the table im surprised his car wash business held up this long his only benefit was he did not carry around an entourage!
