Andre Rison, 36, wants to return to the NFL, and the Bucs may give him a chance

Three years removed from his last NFL game, Rison, 36, has talked to Bucs officials about rejoining Gruden, his former Raiders coach. A workout in Tampa could come next week.

Rison's chances of returning to the NFL were enhanced this summer when the league reinstated him. The 12-year veteran was suspended for four games in 2001 for a repeat violation of the league's substance-abuse policy.

Had Rison signed a contract at that time, he would have been forced to satisfy league sanctions before playing again.

"I'm free of all the league stuff," Rison told ESPN.com this year. "If some team wants me now, and I'm hoping some team gives me a workout, there are no more impediments."

Rison ranks 14th on the NFL's all-time reception list with 743 for 10,205 yards and 84 touchdowns.

Never know, but, i wouldn't put much hope in it. Maybe a good backup?

Who knows, could be in great shape, and take over. Time will tell i suppose.

I have a feeling he'll do okay....I can't see him hitting the field unless he's in tip top shape and lots of guys his age are still well fit.
Less distractions now too....at least while he's playing he doesn't have to worry about his house being burnt down.
