So I'm busy working on some projects at work... when all of a sudden the receptionist calls to tell me there is someone here to see me. "Who?" -"Don't know. Didn't say" -says the receptionist. So now I am a bit concerned... it's not normal for the receptionist not to know or ask... but well, I wasn't going to insist. So I went down three flights of stairs to find out who was looking for me.

Standing there was a HUGE floral arrangement someone had sent me! Yea... I'm immediately concerned... "shoot.. I hope there isn't some crazy young lady out there madly in love with me... I'm married!".... "Maybe it was a brother of mine trying to prank me? Shoot! and now the receptionist has go to be wondering who sent me these things too... :ohno:" And what if it was Jack Herer or one of his gay buddies?

I am asked to sign for the flowers, and what a relief when the mystery finally ended and what an unexpected surprise TOO.. it was MY WIFE! She sent ME flowers! LOL :hyper:

My wife usually whines about how I don't send her flowers or write her letters... I'm just not that kind of guy...(ok, ok... I used to be like that, but not anymore)... Instead I like showing her my love in other more profound ways. You know... like paying the bills, and stuff LOL. J/k

Definitely made this a Valentine's day for me to remember. Love is a blessing indeed...

And so then it's back up three flights of stairs ... and as I re-enter my work area everyone's eyes immediately turn towards me and this huge floral arrangement... what a weird feeling LOL. :):)

So... okay guys and gals I need your help: how would you romantically respond to this? :think2:

(This could get interesting... LOL)

How about you take her to a nice restaurant and hire someone to play the guitar in front of everyone or go to a Karaoke and sing to her!!!

What a sweet gesture! I know she is a very very special lady and I think it´s great girls for a change make men feel special.

Well... there are TONS of posibilities. You know us girl feel and take things differently, but here is what I think most girls would appreciate (choose according to your budget):

A) EXPENSIVE BUT UNFORGETTABLE:
Hire someone to run the following errands for you:
Buy a nice dress for your wife
Make dinner reservations at her favorite place (last minute can be difficult, so give the person who is help you at least 3 options)
Hire a chauffer to pick her up about 2 hours prior to your reservations. The chauffer will deliver the dress so she can put it on along with a note that instructs her to get ready and just get in the car.
You´ll be waiting for her at the restaurant in the most private area with a romantic dinner.
(You don´t need to be all dressed up, so, there is no need for a tux (as long as you are dressed casual, but, no jeans) she is the one who needs to feel special, like a queen.
The rest is up to you

B) BUY HER JEWELRY:
Always a great choice. Diamonds are a girl´s best friend... No, serious, you don´t have to sell your organs, just get her something nice.

C) IMPRESS HER WITHOUT MONEY:
Ok, there are girls that are suckers for guys who are creative enough to make us feel special without great amounts of money. You can send the kids to her mother´s house for the night and start preparing some juicy meal. You don´t have to be an expert cook, just try your best, she´ll be impressed you tried SO hard to do something with your own hands for her instead of just opening your wallet.
Don´t forget the candles, the music, the low light. YES... THE MOOD IS IMPORTANT. And the last special touch, chessy... but will still make her sigh, get a dozen roses, remove the petals and create a little path to the bedroom.

Best of lucks!

All good Viejito... Happy, in love. He makes everyday feel like Valentines... i know it sounds corny, but it´s true.

I have someone who rubs my back every night so I can fall asleep, who wakes me up with kisses every morning, who brings me some sweet little details at least once a week (even after living together for over a year) little but meaningful things. He cooks me dinner when I´m tired and stands my mood changes, can´t ask for more than that.

Tonight he is taking me out to dinner and I´m preparing some special tickets for massages and.. some more :103631605

Write her a small love note on the bathroom mirror with her lipstick telling her where you stashed her present.

Quite frankly, I am surprised none of the perverts in here have already suggested this.

But I would do my best to make tonight a night to remember and I would leave nice presents or surprises for some other day.

I just think that making a 'come back present' might not feel geniune, if you truly want to , then just surprise her on a random day with a similar present/flowers etc or just show up and say "We are going to have a nice dinner at x "

for the record, I am with you Tico. I never buy stuff on 'designated' dates.......I simply buy stuff when I find something nice or when I just feel like it. I don't let the calendar dictate when I am suposed to be nice.

(ah yeah and for the record, I hate you all 'valentine day' people.......yesterday I wanted to go to a small commercial center to pick up a credit card that I renewed.......and sure enough, no place to park because everyone was buying crap to 'show' their loved one .......just how much they love them)

Exactly... I always tell my wife that commercial calendars (Valentine's, Christmas, etc) shouldn't dictate people's lives like they do. I'm always saddened seeing people spending their entire aguinaldos during the end of the year shopping. You know that by the time February comes around, and new school-related expenses are urgent and pressing most of those toys will have been forgotten.

But still I picked up something nice for my wife and also for my daughter tonight... and I will plan something special later on- when she least expects it.

Thanks for the ideas guys, and gals...

Tico, that's very cool of your wife....i suggest saving the flowers, drying them out and putting them in some kind of a decorative glass container. maybe save them for mother's day.....
