D2,

What have those people done to harm our country? They have not commited sedition.

The people I've named are very lucky they have not been tried for sedition during a time of war.

Has the left gone nuts and lost of sense of reality???????????????????????

Actually Gameface the dumbya administration is destroying the country, if he were to get re-elected in another 4 years there may well be nothing more than a police state and the memory of the once freest nation in the world left.

I could go on on for pages on what they've done to harm the country, and then you'd disagree with me. That's called politics.

The sedition stuff is nutty though. Dissent does not = sedition. Not in this country. Maybe you'd feel more at home in Iran, North Korea et al where they do treat political dissent and the like as a criminal offense.

Might you consider that your sense of reality is a bit skewed.

I tried with all my intelligence to engage this poster called , Gameface, I now realize he is on the lunatic fringe of the right wing nuts in the USA.
Debate is now useless with this type of person. This will be my last post RE: anything he has to say.
Like I said before about Gameface, and I will repeat.
BE QUIET AND LET PEOPLE THINK OF YOU AS A FOOL, OR, POST ON THIS BOARD, AND REMOVE ALL DOUBT!!!!!!!!!

Sonny,

Get lost you fukkin asshole.

You people don't see anything wrong with Sandy Burglar stealing top secret government documents and destroying them. This phoney has nerve to speak in front of the 9-11 commission.

Burglar was in line to become Kerrys Secretary of State, enough said about Kerry.

Oh boy if Condi Rice would have done this.

Once again Sonny go fuk yourself.

Have stayed away from the politics boards because there are tooo many left wing Euro-pussies and anti-american losers here. Glad to see there are some pro-Americans here.

You know who you are if you think the Palestineans are the good guys and if you are worried about the Patriot Act infringing on personal freedoms. Oh yeah and if you think that Bush and the Republicans are dumb.

Yeah, you might be a conservative or libertarian. And you might be a believer in that document called THE CONSTITUTION.

You know.
If Bush hadn't unilaterally invaded Iraq and done all that 'homeland security' and Patriot Act nonsense I think his re-election would have been relatively easy.

It kind of boils down to 'who runs America'.

Pretty extreme right wingers.
or the moral majority.

I notice that Gore had more votes in the last election btw.

I guess us Right-wingers don't know anything about the Constitution. Somewhere there is something called an electoral college, whatever that thing is. I think it is in Article II eek.

I love the Constitution (am a scholar of it) and I love the USA. I again reiterate that the Patriot act is good for this country. The laws have been subverted for too long by the ACLU and others. With open borders and "political correctness" a certain religion of peace was able to infiltrate this country and inflict terrorism.

Not one iota of my freedom has been infringed. I was talking with a couple of buddies in my office and none of us could think of a single legitimate infringement in any of our day to day lives.

You're a scholar of the Constitution? If so, I would have thought you would have known what NY Times v. Sullivan said about the Sedition Act. Sedition is implicitly unconstituional and if it were ever again applied it would be found so by the USSC.

I consider myself something of a First Amendment scholar. I would challenge my knowledge against yours any day.

And there are portions of the Patriot Act that are clearly unconstituional. That bothers me whether or not such powers have been used or not.

Over and over again, I hear conservative refrain about what harm has Patriot Act done me personally? Answer: none. But there's a whole lotta Arab Anericans that spent plenty of time detained for no reason.

Now my question to the staunch Patriot Act supporters: Can you demonstrate what good it has done? Has it led to the breakup of any terrorist acts? Give me the evidence.

Glad that others out there see the real threat the Patriot Act poses.....

First and largest threat is that legislation like this could be enacted in a frenzied fever, without any debate whatsoever as to the content of the act and the consequences further on down the road in relation to the constitution. That factor alone would appear to be grounds to render the whole document unconstitutional.

Second problem is people actually stood up and clapped for this act not realizing the consequences as stated above.

If more of these laws get put on the books by people who act like a chicken with it head cut off....with that mentality you might as well forget about the terrorists because your freedoms will be gone and maybe then all the staunch flagwavers out there will finally realize what the constitution meant to thier own personal freedoms, and realize that thier flag wasn't the source of thier freedoms and wasn't as powerful as they thought it to be.
