Big card today so I will post my selections as they come. Here are today early selections:

10 Units Wake Forest -18.5 +102

As I thought, the top-tiered teams in the ACC are going to be too much for Clemson to handle. Last time out, Duke drubbed Clemson at Clemson 73-54 SU. Now they get to travel to undefeated Wake Forest (10-0 SU, 7-2 ATS). Clemson has had a mediocre start at 7-5 SU (4-4 ATS). The trend is that Clemson just can’t match-up with the premier teams. Their losses have come against strong opponents such as Duke, Cincinnati, Purdue, South Carolina. These teams do not have too many losses this season, but Clemson is winless on the Road (0-3 SU) and should continue that streak in this game. Wake Forest has dominated at Home (7-0 SU) and has scored 87 points a game. This is too much offense since Clemson has only mustered 58 points a game on the Road, 14 less than their total season average. Clemson is getting strong inside play from Junior Sharrod Ford (12 ppg, 9 rpg, 3 bpg). Mr. Ford will have a tough time inside against Wake big man Eric Williams (18 ppg, 6 rpg) and Wake will be way too much at Home.

7 Units Western Michigan -6.5 -109

Buffalo is playing well at home, especially on defense, allowing 64 ppg. They have two decent players in junior point guard Turner Battle (13 ppg, 3 apg) and 6'-9”, 240-lb sophomore B.J. Walker (5.5 rebounds pg). However, this is a bad spot for them as Western Michigan (8-1) is BIG and playing brilliant basketball. The Western Michigan Broncos are 7-2 against the spread, and terrific on the road (4-1 SU/ATS). They have three big guns in 6’-7” senior center Anthony Kann (11 ppg, 7 rpg), 6’-8” senior Mike Williams (20 ppg, 53% FGs, 7 rpg) and 6’-3” sophomore Ben Reed, who is a workhorse all over the court (20 ppg, 53% FGs, 4 rpg). WM whipped Buffalo 87-66 a year ago and will win again by double-digits with their defense, height and depth.

7 Units Pittsburgh -5.5 +103

Pittsburgh (15-0 SU, 5-3 ATS) completed its early season home games 13 and 0 SU, 2-0 ATS and now heads out for some road activity. In their league opener, Jaron Brown scored a season-high 21 points as the 15th-ranked Panthers routed Virginia Tech, 78-59. The Panthers won despite missing point guard Carl Krauser for the fourth straight game. Freshman Antonio Graves started in his place and had five assists. Pittsburgh forced 26 turnovers, blocked nine shots and held the Hokies scoreless for nearly four minutes during one stretch late in the second half. The Panthers have held their last six opponents under 60 points. The Hurricanes, shooting 48% from the field, are no slouches themselves. Robert Hite scored 27 points for the Hurricanes (10-4), who lost to NC 89-64 on Wednesday. North Carolina pounded Miami in transition, forcing 22 turnovers that led to numerous lay-ups and easy baskets. The Tar Heels shot 50 percent (35-of-70) from the field and held the Hurricanes to 37.5 percent (24-of-64). This will be no picnic for the home team.

5 Units Tennessee +12 -105

Tennessee (9-1 SU, 5-3 ATS) had an easy time of it at Home against Georgia, 89-65 SU. Now they go to Gatorville and face a tough Florida (10-2 SU, 6-2 ATS). Florida is coming off a tough Road win against South Carolina, 65-62 SU. Like a lot of SEC series, the Home team dominated the game each time last season. Tennessee will definitely struggle in this Road game. The Vols were just 5-7 SU (8-4 ATS) in Road games last year and are only putting up 68 points a game on the Road so far this year. This is almost 16 points a game less than their season average of 84 points a game. Nothing seems to be stopping Tennessee Guard, Scooter Mcfadgon, and this season as he leads the Vols with 20 points and 4 rebounds a game. The rest of the team's Road play will make the difference. This game should be up and down the court as Florida loves to push it, especially at Home where they are averaging 89 points a game. Junior David Lee (16 ppg, 7 rpg) has been playing very well inside for the Gators. He is shooting a strong 64% from the floor. Statistically, these teams are very similar, but the Home team should be the difference again.

5 Units Seton Hall -5.5 -107

The SH Pirates (10-2 SU, 8-1 ATS; R: 3-2 SU, 3-1 ATS) are off to a thundering early season log. They continued the fireworks as Andre Barrett had 25 points and 10 assists for his second double-double in as many games to lead the Hall to a 86-74 win over La Salle. Kelly Whitney also had a career-high 25 points and John Allen added 18 for the Pirates, who won their seventh straight game. The Pirates are shooting lights out, out shooting opponents 48% to 38%. St. John's (H: 3-4 SU, 1-4 ATS) opened league play with a 65-59 loss in Syracuse on Wednesday. Point Elijah Ingram was 1 of 12 from the field and 1 of 9 from beyond the arc. The Redmen are in trouble here against the hot shooting Hall. SJU plays defense and can rebound, but, oh, their dreadful shooting

5 Units Wisc Milwaukee -3.5 -101

Horizon League battle and both teams have plenty of scoring options, so look for the offensive fur to be flying!!! Wisconsin Milwaukee shoots 48% and averages 78 ppg, while Loyola is getting outscored by a 77-74 average. You can't contain the offense of the Wisconsin-Milwaukee Panthers, as they have height and athleticism with three strong offensive players in 6’-3” junior guard Ed McCants (18 ppg), 6’-8” senior forward Dylan Page (20 ppg, 7.8 rpg) and 6’-7” sophomore Adrian Tigert (6 rpg). Milwaukee is 3-4 on the road, though 1-4 ATS. The Loyola-Chicago Ramblers have a good offensive frontcourt of their own with 6’-6”, 240-lb senior forward Paul McMillen (17 ppg, 8 rpg) and 6’-7” Blake Schilb (11 ppg). Loyola is 3-2 SU/2-2 ATS at home where they score 77 points per game, but give up 78 ppg!!! That's some poor defense at home, and the visitors will be able to take full advantage. Wisconsin-Milwaukee won both meetings in shootouts a year ago, 100-80 and 92-91.

10 Units South Carolina -1.5 +107

Last time out, Georgia (8-4 SU, 3-5 ATS) was man-handled by Tennessee 89-65 SU, on the Road. It does not get any easier as South Carolina comes to town. The Gamecocks (13-2 SU, 5-4 ATS) are coming off a tough Home loss to Florida 65-62 SU. They will be ready to peck on Bulldog, especially after Georgia swept the series last year very easily. South Carolina has been strong on the Road so far this year, going 4-1 SU and 70 points a game. Georgia has also been strong at Home going 8-1 SU, so far this year. South Carolina has been fantastic on Defense this season. The Gamecocks are only allowing 56 points a game (59 on the Road). South Carolina has been strangling the long-range shooters this year as they only allow 25% shooting from three-point land. Georgia’s problem is at the defensive end. They are allowing 70 points a game (66 at Home). This situation will always be bad against a good defensive team that can score like South Carolina. Georgia is led by Senior Guard, Rashad Wright (14 ppg, 4 apg). Junior Carlos Powell leads the Gamecocks with 14 points and 7 rebounds a game. Road games are always difficult in the SEC, but South Carolina should just get by in this one.

10 Units Minnesota U -4 +101

The Princeton (6-5 SU, 5-1 ATS: R: 3-3 Su, 5-0 ATS) Tigers also play some defense but that won't be near enough as they head to Minnesota. 6'-11" Justin Wallace (averaging 15 ppg-7 rpg) is a good frontcourt player, but the Tigers have little depth. The Tigers have a couple of tough losses to Rutgers, Oklahoma and Cal-Irvine. Wallace and 6'-0" Ed Persia (11 ppg) are the only players averaging in double figures. They are shooting 48% from the field with opponents at 43%. Minnesota (7-1 SU, 1-5 ATS) is better than their 7-5 SU showing. Kris Humphries (23 ppg) has taken the place of Rick Rickert and might well be the Big-10 POY when all is said and done, plus there is a strong cast of returnees. And the Gophers are real good at home.

5 Units Vanderbilt +9 -107

This game is clearly one of the gems of the day as unbeaten Vanderbilt (12-0 SU, 6-3 ATS) heads to Lexington to play Kentucky (9-1, 3-4 ATS). This is an early critical SEC East battle. UK is sparked by the play of Senior Guard, Gerard Fitch (18 ppg, 4 rpg, 2 apg). Statistically, Vanderbilt is slightly better in most categories. The Smart Kids are led by the great play of Senior Matt Freije (19 ppg, 6 rpg). But, Vandy has only played 2 games on the Road (2-0 SU) so far and none of those were as critical as this game. Plus, Kentucky (6-1 SU this season at home) has been dominant at Home since the two-handed set shot ruled the game. Just recently, they beat a very good and ranked North Carolina at Rupp Arena 61-56 SU. Last season, Kentucky owned Vandy, winning easily 3 times SU. It is just impossible to believe that UK won’t get it done at Home in this one, but don't look for a shootout in this rough and tough defensive duel.

7 Units Nevada -9 -102

The SMU Mustangs allow opponents 42% shooting and 66 ppg, but they will have their hands full here against a strong and confident Nevada team. The SMU Mustangs have been very good on the road, though this will be their fifth road game over the last six games. Still, one of those wins was a 60-59 upset win at Purdue as a +16 dog!!! They have a nice punch in the frontcourt with 6’-9” junior Patrick Simpson (10 ppg, 6.6 rpg) and 6’-8” junior Eric Castro (6 rpg), while sophomore guard Bryan Hopkins (15 ppg) runs the break. But Nevada is on a roll, playing great defense (40% shooting allowed) with junior 6’-6” Kirk Snyder (17 ppg), 6’-10” freshman Nick Fazekas (6 rpg) and 6’-9” junior Kevin Pinkney (9 ppg). They led 40-20 at the half over Kansas (75-61 win) as Snyder had 29 points, 9 rebounds, and they made 24-of-29 free throws. Nevada was 12-3 SU/8-6 ATS on this court a year ago and whipped SMU 82-64 on this court.

3 Units Pepperdine -7.5 -103

The scoop on this game, don't look for any defense!!! Portland likes to run, led by 5’-10” sophomore Eugene Jeter (17 ppg) who is a strong 3-point threat. But they lack height up front and the defense is poor, allowing opponents to shoot 46%, giving up 75 ppg on the road. Pepperdine is no defensive dynamo, either, giving up 78 points per game and allowing opponents to shoot 47%!!! 6’-8” junior Glen McGowan (18 ppg, 5 rpg) and sophomore guard Alex Acker (13 ppg, 5 rpg) lead a very good Pepperdine offense, and Pepperdine whipped this smaller Portland team a year ago by scores of 82-68 and 82-62!!!
