TUESDAY SELECTIONS

Here are tonight's selections:

7 Units Iowa State +8.5 -108

The Seminoles' Tim Pickett scored 25 points to lead Florida State to a 91-84 double-overtime victory over Wichita State in the first round of the NIT on Wednesday night. Pickett hit three second-half 3-point shots to help the Seminoles (19-13) rally from a 14-point deficit. Florida State, which snapped a five-game losing streak, also had to come back from six points down in the first overtime. In the second overtime, Nate Johnson hit a 3-pointer with 4:03 left to give the Seminoles the lead for good. Von Wafer came off the bench to score 14 points for the Seminoles. Iowa State's 6'-10" Jackson Vroman scored 23 points, Curtis Stinson had 21 and Iowa State shot a school-record 74.4 percent in beating Georgia 82-74 Wednesday night in the first round. Marcus Jefferson scored 11 for Iowa State and Jake Sullivan 10. The one concern is that Iowa State is a miserable 1-11 SU, 3-9 ATS on the road where they get outscored by a 79-68 average. FSU (15-2 Su, 8-2 ATS at home) has a veteran backcourt, including a combustible scorer in Tim Pickett. They will need all of that to survive ISU, and don't look for a lot of defense.

5 Units Marquette -3 -105

Boise State is on a 9-1 SU run following a couple of wins last week when they rebounded against UNLV and Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Aaron Haynes scored 20 points as Boise State held off Wisconsin-Milwaukee, 73-70, in a first-round National Invitation Tournament matchup. The Golden Eagles (H: 14-4 SU, 4-8 ATS) have responded after an early departure from the C-USA tournament. Travis Diener scored 21 points and tied a career high with 12 assists to lead Marquette over Toledo 87-72 in the first round of the NIT. Steve Novak scored 17 points and Joe Chapman added 13 for Marquette. Both teams can score with regularity. The Golden Eagles have been at their best when they've been able to play defense, rebound and match up physically in the paint. Defense has been a problem much of the season, so the Golden Eagles must do a better job of preventing easy inside baskets. They got the job done on both ends last week. Defense rules for the Eagles, though Boise State is an impressive 9-5 SU, 10-3 ATS on the road!

WEDNESDAY SELECTIONS

Here are tonight's selection's.

10 Units Rutgers -1 (WON 72-60) +10 UNITS

A Big East rematch on Wednesday. Rutgers won the previous meeting 71-68 at the end of January. The Villanova Wildcats (18-16), making their fifth straight appearance in the NIT, have won four of their last five games after Nova beat Virginia 73-63 in the second round of the NIT on Saturday. Allan Ray scored 23 points and Randy Foye added 21 as Villanova led by as many as 17. Left for dead after a late-season swoon left the team below .500 entering the Big East Tournament, the Wildcats shocked the experts by winning a pair of games in the conference tournament, then sweeping through its first two NIT games. The Rutgers Scarlet Knights held on for a 67-64 victory over West Virginia in the second round of the NIT on Monday. Ricky Shields scored a career-high 26 points and freshman Quincy Douby hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:11 remaining. Douby, who started his second straight game after coming off the bench all season, finished with 15 points. Herve Lamizana had 11 points and three blocks. The Wildcats have been winning with defense, ball control and rebounding. The Wildcats are playing inspired basketball right now, and even though the game is played in New Jersey, Rutgers will need a strong defensive effort and continued offensive fireworks from Ricky Shields and Quincy Douby. Rutgers is 15-2 at home and they won the first meeting. The Knights make it to the NIT Final Four.

5 Units Michigan -8.5 (WON 88-73) +5 UNITS

The Rainbows are in a rough spot traveling the known Universe to play in the Big Apple next week. Hawaii held off Nebraska 84-83 in the second round of the NIT at home and now travel to Ann Arbor. Jason Carter's hot shooting led the Rainbows when he scored a career-high 21 points. Jeff Blackett scored 17 points and Julian Sensley added 13 for the Rainbow Warriors (21-11), who led by as much as 19 points. Hawaii has done the near impossible so far in the NIT, recapturing momentum after losing seven of its last 10 games before the tournament. Michigan has risen through the ranks and has become the class of the NIT with wins over Missouri and Oklahoma. The Wolverines historically have dominated at home in this tournament, having won nine games without a loss. Get Carter, will be the Wolverines' goal on Wednesday. They will get Carter and Blackett and Sensley and anyone else.

Good Luck Tonight,

Allstar

WEDNESDAY 2-0 +15.00 UNITS

Here are tonight's selections:

7 Units Notre Dame -6.5 (Lost 61-65) -7.56 units

Oregon (17-12) doesn't play much defense on the road, giving up 78 ppg. Oregon went 5-8 SU, 7-5 ATS away from home this season, so they will need to step up the defense if they want to hang with Notre Dame. Oregon can score, averaging 76 ppg behind senior guard Andre Joseph (12 ppg) and 6'-7" senior forward Luke Jackson (21 ppg, 7.3 rpg). Oregon is 6-1 UNDER the total the last 7 games, and they have won the last two, 77-72 against Colorado and 68-54 over George Mason. But those games were at home and this will be a much tougher test. Notre Dame (19-12) has junior guard Chris Thomas (19 ppg), 6'-4" Torian Jones 6'-9" Jordan Cornette. Notre Dame is 13-6 SU, 8-8 ATS at home where they are 8-3 UNDER the total. They are off a 77-66 win over St. Louis, as point guard Chris Thomas scored 39 points, including 27 in the second half. He hit 12-of-20 shots, was 6-for-11 from 3-point range, grabbed five rebounds and pestered Saint Louis guards all night defensively. Notre Dame has the better offense and carries a 6-1 SU/5-2 ATS run into this game.
