Season 8-11 -17.25 Units
Here are tonight's selections:
5 Units Oregon State +8 -112
The Oregon State Beavers came up just short in their attempt to score an early season upset last week when they lost to BCS Champion LSU 22-21 in overtime when they missed three extra points. The OSU defense was the star of the game holding LSU to just 93 yards of total offense in the first half, compared to 178 for the Beavers. Dwight Wright took over the Oregon State tailback reins from Steven Jackson and appears to be handling it well. Wright rushed seven times for 71 yards in the first half, buoyed by a 49-yard scamper toward the end of the first half. Sr QB Derrick Anderson was 23-of-41 for 184 yards. The Beavers outgained the Tigers 376-313. They're not calling this a rebuilding year in Boise, merely, a retooling one. Gone are their three top players on offensive, QB Ryan Dinwiddie, RB Donny Heck and WR Tim Gilligan but low and behold, the Broncos defeated Idaho 65-7 in game one to extend their winning streak to 12 straight and 19 in a row at home. QB Jared Zabransky ran for three scores and threw for 234 yards while Lee Marks posted 106 rushing yards. Boise State racked up 572 yards of total offense, Idaho managed only 212 total yards. Boise State (LY: 13-1 SU, 8-5 ATS) outscored teams by a 43-17 average in 2003 with 486 total yards per game! The defense loses some key players, but still has defensive coordinator Ron Collins. Under Collins they have allowed 18 and 17 ppg the last two seasons. OSU showed they can play with the big boys last week but they do need a placekicker. OSU won 26-24 a year ago as a 4 point favorite. It should be close once again with the BSU streak going to "lucky 13," but not in a rout.
