BOWL POSTS 4-2 +9.41 UNITS
Here are todays selections:
5 Units Northwestern +6.5 +108
A couple of good rushing teams meet. Northwestern (6-6 SU, 8-4 ATS) regrouped late in the season finishing the year on a 4-2 SU, ATS run featuring solid defensive effort wins over Illinois 37-20, Penn State 17-7 and Wisconsin 16-7. In the season finale against the Illini, Jason Wright set career highs with 42 carries for 251 yards and tied another with four touchdowns. In addition, Noah Herron had 17 carries for 163 yards for Northwestern as they rushed for 444 yards. The defense intercepted four passes and recovered two fumbles. For Bowling Green (10-3), let's begin with QB Josh Harris. Harris ran for 762 yards on the year and completed 65% of his 444 throws for 3,427 yards, 24 TDs and just 10 INTs. B.G closed the regular season losing the MAC championship game to Miami-Ohio 49-27. On the ground, other than Harris, P.J. Pope (982 yards) did most of the rushing. B.G. opened the season with a 27-26 win over Purdue and lost to Ohio State 24-17. With that being said, I'm looking for a very close game going right down to the wire!!!
5 Units Virginia Tech -3 -104
5 Units Virginia Tech OVER 56.5 +102
The Virginia Tech Hokies (8-4 SU, 4-7 ATS) finished the season on a downer losing four of six games after opening the season on a 6 game winning streak. The run-oriented Hokies feature a ground attack with All-America Kevin Jones (heading for the NFL draft), who compiled 1,494 yards on the ground. QB Bryan Randall, who had an up, then down season, wrapped up the year against Virginia with a 35-21 loss. Va-Tech highlighted the season with an impressive win over Miami-Fla (31-7)!!! The Cal Golden Bears had several big wins as they put together a 7-6 SU, 9-4 ATS log. Quarterback Aaron Rogers put up good numbers and completed 60% of his passes for an average 255 ypg while the running game is led by Adimchinobe Echemandu (1,161 yards). A solid California defense gave up an average of only 17 ppg down the strech and they were the only team to beat No. 1 USC (34-31). There's a lot of pressure on the Hokies running game here but Kansas State ran for 330 yards against Cal in game one. On the other side of the coin, Cal's last four opponents gained 303 total running yards!!!
