While it's possible Iverson has a true personal emergency to deal with, he met with owner Michael Eisley on Friday night and Saturday morning before leaving the team. He's already caused problems by complaining about his role and playing time, and hasn't even had a face-to-face conversation with his new coach. There's no telling how this will end.

He should leave. If he wanted to play 18 minutes a game off the bench he should of went to a contender to have a chance to get a ring...

He misses the whole preseason, the first few games, and he's expecting 40+ minutes right off the bat? He deserves to be on the Nets.

Nobody wanted him... He should "retire" and try to get picked up before the deadline. I wouldn't take him on any team though, he just can't coexist now that he's not the focal point.

always been a huge AI fan. kind of halfway a grizzlies fan so i was very excited about him coming to memphis. but this is an embarassment. i cant blame AI...id do same thing i guess if i could get paid millions to play when i wanted and lay out when i wanted. memphis should just send him on his way.

really the NBA is to blame. this whole "personal reasons" bullshit and season long injuries have gotten ridiculous. players stay hurt till playoffs start then play, or sometimes take the whole year off but sit on bench lookin fine jumping up and down cheering. how often do baseball players miss for "personal reasons"

I'm sure this is going to get worse before it gets better. Since this team is pretty bad.
