Line hovering around 27.5/28.... You know he ate the first player that tried to go to the AD about him...

I heard rumors about this yesterday. It's supposed to be about striking players. Sad.

I thought Texas would be favored by about 15-17, not in the 20s regardless of Kansas' failures.

Kansas still has Reesing and they were leading a decent Nebraska team in the 4th quarter last week.

I think the current line is based on pure public perception of what the Longhorns COULD do against Kansas, knowing many of those recreational bettors won't take into account that Texas has a short week before playing the dogass Aggies on Thanksgiving. A pretty good example of casual money betting a favorite fully capable of covering vs. smart money seeing the big picture and being more cautious.

I'd hate to see Mangino get canned. I think the guy is an excellent football man -- he took KU from nothing to a good program -- and is the second-funniest coach in the Big 12, behind only Mike Leach.

GS, Mack will probably be looking to get starters out of the game as early as he can this Saturday. That's the word I hear, at least. Of course sometimes he gets carried away and leaves the first team in longer than a lot of people think he should.

Yes - I saw a 28.5 and now it's 27.5.

However, that aside, this team is on a major slide, and Nebraska's offense cannot be compared to the Longhorns. Am I the only one thinking that a lot of players have already thrown in the towel on this season?

Besides that, there has to be some chaos cause if a headcoach is suddenly dismissed like that, right?

I still haven't decided if I'm going to play it, but I have a feeling OU is going to beat the "ugly girlfriends" this week. Maybe I'll put a little moola down on the ML.

The favorite sign I saw in the background of last week's GameDay: "My girlfriend's not fat, she has a thyroid problem."

Don't claim to know anything about what's going on in Lawrence, but seriously a player was poked in the chest and that deserves a meeting with the AD and an internal investigation? Unless there is a lot more to this, imo this is a joke. For where this program was before he got there and where it is now, I am stunned that his job would even be thought to be in jeopardy. Yes, a bad year for them this year but come on. They need to take a look no farther than down the road in Manhattan to see what making a coaching change with a coach who resurrected a program and then had a year or two of average results. Anyone with ties to KU or know something about the situation, explain to me how they would be better off getting rid of Mangino and bringing in who?

Rumor from ESPN Insider, if Mangino goes:

"Oklahoma D-coordinator Brent Venables might just be next in line for the Jayhawks."

5 years ago Venables wouldn't have taken this job. But the job offers have pretty much dried up since then, so I'm sure he would be a lot more open to it now. I'm betting Mangino is as good as gone. It just has that feel about it. I'm not sure what he really did that they aren't telling us about. But the school is obviously pissed off at him.

It really does sound like it's a done deal that he's a goner. All they keep hinting at is him poking a player in the chest, but there's got to be more to it than that. There have been a few vague references to his "anger problem" (which is what made interviews with him so funny), so there has to be something beyond a chest-poking.

I'll be curious to see how the team looks Saturday evening.
