For most of this week, I have really liked Alabama in this game. But an angle I had failed to consider which came to my attention yesterday was the Phil Fulmer/Alabama feud. For those that don't know or remember, Alabama has been on probation due to being turned in by an informant. This informant was Phil Fulmer. He avoided the SEC meetings this summer in Birmingham and now gets a chance to play Alabama in Knoxville. I am sure both schools are dying to run up the score today in this heated rivalry. Instinct is telling me that if Fulmer gets the chance which is more likely than Alabama today in Knoxville, he will try to run it up today. Should I get off Bama and eat the juice or should I stick with Bama? Any thoughts and opinions are appreciated!
Briefly,Alabama will be content to pick up 2 or 3 first downs,use the clock, and then let the defense keep it close until the fourth quarter. Tennessee does not have their usual advantage with their receivers vs. the Tide secondary-so I cannot see them having as many big plays in the passing game as they have had in the past.

It's what you would expect-the media and the fans have lot to say about it,but the players and coaches downplay the significance of the events.The Tennessee players are making a big deal of it,however, and are saying blah,blah,blah. I think it has little bearing on the game-if you like Bama stay on them.
kojak - bama had already been caught cheating before the sec came to fulmer. It was not fulmer's fault that bama was caught- he just confirmed it. THEY CAME TO HIM. they were paying coaches to make sure their kids came to bama without the kids' knowledge. In essence - selling them. They were cheating and want to blame it on fulmer. it is a smokescreen - it doesn't take away from them cheating, no matter what bama lawyers say or ESPN for that matter
low tide - bama has the #1 ranked pass defense in the country i think - the only advantage the vol receivers have is height - we still have a true freshman as our qb - game should be low scoring and close. they really hate each other

vols have a respect for bama every year, even though we beat them every year as of late (8 yrs i think).
they are still our biggest rival( they owned us for 11 years) and always will be, no matter what is going on with frivalous lawsuits off the field

UT has a good run defense surprisingly. To beat UT, you have to attack their secondary which Bama cannot at this point. SO Miss was giving up over 5 yards per carry and therefore the big win against them and UK. However South Carolina had a good run defense and they only scored 3. I expect a similar effort today but with some extra points of Ainges turnovers. UT 21 UA 10
