road warrior today so the record is not with me. something like 4-5 yesterday for some negative juice. entirely too many plays...
***** North Carolina State Wolfpack +8
Another game where I would not be suprised to see an outright upset. For starters, NCS has covered their last 7 matchups with the Hokies, including 2 outright victories as a dog of at least this magnitude. They always seem to matchup well and Sidney Lowe seems to be able to get his guys read to play VT, wether it be home or away. The key to beating NCS is to able to make thier guards uncomfortable and force turnovers, and VT just isnt able to do that (a very poor 1.11 A/TO ratio in the last 5 games). NCS is shooting the ball well in their last 3 games and will be able to get into their offense. VT probably has better players but they tend to not play with discipline and get into foul trouble. State will need a big game from their guards (VT allowing 36% from the arc in last 5 games) to win this game. If guys like Fells and Degand can get their shooting on track they tend to be much more involved defensively and it results in a much better team effort.
I like this VT squad, but to me they are overrated in this spot and I think the line creates alot of value on NCS. NCS has had a few players (fells, degand) who had bad ankles and it has really limited their offense. Those players have finally been healthy over the past few games and the offense has looked alot better because of it. This is a prime upset opportunity for the Wolfpack so I will go ahead and take the 8 points. NCS by 3...
more to come. Good luck to you all :toast:
