road warrior today so the record is not with me. something like 4-5 yesterday for some negative juice. entirely too many plays...

***** North Carolina State Wolfpack +8

Another game where I would not be suprised to see an outright upset. For starters, NCS has covered their last 7 matchups with the Hokies, including 2 outright victories as a dog of at least this magnitude. They always seem to matchup well and Sidney Lowe seems to be able to get his guys read to play VT, wether it be home or away. The key to beating NCS is to able to make thier guards uncomfortable and force turnovers, and VT just isnt able to do that (a very poor 1.11 A/TO ratio in the last 5 games). NCS is shooting the ball well in their last 3 games and will be able to get into their offense. VT probably has better players but they tend to not play with discipline and get into foul trouble. State will need a big game from their guards (VT allowing 36% from the arc in last 5 games) to win this game. If guys like Fells and Degand can get their shooting on track they tend to be much more involved defensively and it results in a much better team effort.

I like this VT squad, but to me they are overrated in this spot and I think the line creates alot of value on NCS. NCS has had a few players (fells, degand) who had bad ankles and it has really limited their offense. Those players have finally been healthy over the past few games and the offense has looked alot better because of it. This is a prime upset opportunity for the Wolfpack so I will go ahead and take the 8 points. NCS by 3...

more to come. Good luck to you all :toast:

*** Boston College Eagles +10.5

good god this is a silly line. BC has won 5 strait and looks to have figured out how to get the most out of their lineup. Wake is struggling a bit since winning vs Duke and I really don't think they are 11 points better than the Eagles, especially with current form. Not going to do an exaggerrated write-up for this one but I just think BC is in much better form right now and should easily cover this number. To me this is very similar to the Duke-Miami game yesterday. Wake did win by 20 @ BC but to me that serves as a motivating factor for these eagles. Wake is a young (talented, but very young) team facing a crisis of confidence, and it is a tall task to ask them to cover this big number. Its certainly possible wake wins by DD, but I like my chances with the Eagles today...

thanks GG, gl to you today as well

** Maryland Terrapins +3

two bad teams, I will just take the points and be done with it. GT has played well lately, but they have played teams who either had bad offenses (FSU) or who were in the early stages of a midseason slump (Wake). I compare UMD to a cornered cat in this game and I think we see alot of transition opportunities. GT struggles against guards who can create and I really think that Maryland spends alot of this game @ the foul line as their guards should be able to drive all day. I think the terps probably win by 5-7 points but they are too inconsistent to have a big play on.

Like i said this will be a transition game. Think the terps control the tempo and it stays high. I see this as a 75-72 kind of game..

Great call on FSU last night. When I left FSU was down 15 points so I counted it as a loss then came home and saw they won outright. Pissed off I didn't play the ML though.

Good luck with the other plays, but I am on GT tonight. Maryland is a one man show with Vasquez and they don't have any big men to stop Lawal or Aminu.

I really think that line is a big trap, it is at 10.5 for a reason........and you can just see by these %'s that everyone is thinking like you

Another game where I would not be suprised to see an outright upset.

Never before has a cover been more deserved. This would've been an outright winner if not for the worst officiating call I've seen in over 40 years of watching basketball. They called a flagrant foul with NCState up 18 midway in the 2nd half. It was a good clean play and what made it the worst call ever is that they went to the monitor to confirm it. It's mind boggling how they didn't overturn the call after viewing it. An 18 point game became a 10 point game seconds later.

Apparently u never watched the first half as NCState went to the line 18 times as oppossed to VT`s 9 times.

Well done Mr Shivers.
You are on a roll mate.

Did you see the play I'm referring to? If so, what was your opinion?

18 to 9 FTs in half is not that uncommon, even though it was a horribly officiated game.

state went to the line more because they were more agressive around the basket. hard to complain about that as they earned their attempts. The flagrant foul on Fells was an awful calll that changed their entire game. I cant blame the loss on that as they were up double digits, but it certainly set them up to shit the bed. ML backers got royally fucked..

I'm 0-2 ATS when betting on Tech this year. Since there is some emotional attachment it is a double-stinger. I can't believe N.C. State thought they were going to steal #1 national prospect Derrick Favors from Atlanta. Come on now. Favors chose to stay where he belongs
