Carolina is 1-9 ATS this year with numbers larger than 19. I just don't like their chances of laying the wood to GT in this game. Heels are having a hard time right now playing defense, and the best way to beat GT is to be able to force turnovers. GT struggles with handling the ball when teams can be effective at applying pressure to their guards (particularly Shumpert). Carolina has played very porous on the ball defense (1.26 A/TO ratio in last 5 games) and GT is at their most dangerous when they can operate in their half court set.
To me its a tough spot to back the Heels because this is the kind of game where you do just enough to get by (reminds me alot of the UVA game a few weeks ago where Carolina was in control the whole game yet only won by 15) and save your efforts for the bigger fish down the road. I expect UNC to be ahead by DD at the break and spend most of the 2nd half in cruise control mode.
Only reason that this play isnt stronger is that Heels are coming off a loss. Roy has been emphasizing defense all week in practice so I expect alot more defensive intensity from the Heels in this game, but you have to wonder what Carolina's goal tomorrow will truly be. A chance they really get carried away here but I like my chances to cover this number. I had this line @ 18 so I will say that the heels win by 18..
best of luck everyone, will have a few more in the AM. Their is a decent chance I will take all 4 dogs in the ACC tomorrow. Really suprised that FSU is getting points @ the LCC tomorrow but I am still looking at that game..

Hey Jimmy. I'm gonna take WF -7 for tomorrow. Everyone here at UVA is gone for spring break already, I'm one of the few who is sticking around for the game tomorrow. Miami covered pretty easily towards the end of the game on Thursday (against a full UVA cheering section), and I expect Wake to do the same towards the end of tomorrow's game. With UVA it's always hard to tell what will happen in the first half, but I can't see us staying very close against a legitimate WF team in the end.

Slept on this game and I have come around

**** Wake Forest Deamon Deacons -7

Wake Forest has really struggled away from the LCC in conference play, losing their last 4 games. That being said I just think this is an awful matchup for the Wahoos. UVA, even on their best nights is going to struggle to score points and that is going to be their downfall. The Wahoos make their living shooting with spot up jumpers and lay-ups (aside from Landesberg) and to me it looks like they will have a hard time getting open looks against a Wake team that is bigger stronger and faster. I like Wake to really control the tempo and play at a pace that the Wahoos are uncomfortable with. An undisciplined team like UVA is going to struggle to not push the ball (think UNC when the Heels visited earlier this year) and I see them taking alot of bad quick shots because they get open looks. This is a team that functions best in a deliberate half court set and I just don't see them being able to get into it very often


I see this being a game that Wake puts alot of focus in. If anyone is aware of their road woes it is the Deacons themselves and I think they come with a big effort in this game. Going into the end of the season where you don't have any home games I think we will see a concerted effort from Wake to get some positive momentum going on the road, and with a game after this @ Maryland they have a real chance to forget their road woes of the past month.

Bottom line, I think that this game has the potential to get very ugly. I can't play a road favorite for a strong play but Wake should cruise in this game. Wake by 15

Think VT has a great shot at winning this game outright. Duke is still having major defensive problems and I see VT being able to get alot of good looks at the basket. The Hokies have a nice mix of athleticism and size and these are the types of teams that have caused Duke problems all season

The last time these two teams played in Durham it was close for the first 30 minutes, then Duke cut on the defense to win going away. Until Duke shows me that they can play consistent D, they are a solid road fade. VT this year has played the good teams well (beat Wake @ Wake, beat Clemson @ LJ) but struggled against the middle of the pack teams. I expect the Hokies to be up for this game and to show the same tenacity that they had on Wednesday night. I look for VT to control the paint and give a very strong effort on the boards. Duke has been exploited defensively by athletic teams lately (Wake, Clemson, UNC) and I think the Hokies have the tools to fall into this category.

VT has their season on the line today and I think we see another big effort. No reason to expect a let down game from the Hokies as they have so much to play for. Greenberg is a master motivator and should have his guys keyed in for this game. I think the Hokies come out in front of a raucous Cassel Coliseum and give the fans a reason to storm the floor. Hokies by 4..

Duke sucks at closing out games so I can see this one still coming our way. Will be looking awfully hard at a play on the Hokies for the 2nd half..

looking at the game on sunday and I have to say that the line is very tight. Lean towards NC State but was hoping to see the line more @ -2 or so. Tough line to crack imo..
