This guy is blowing a gasket...

The war is going too good! Every anti-war person he can find he gives 5+ minutes of air time.

He just had a minister on. The clergyman said Saddam wasnt too bad of a man because he, Saddam, gave a christian church in Iraq an organ!!!!!!

Un-FVCKING believable.

Peter Jennings is a filthy canadian who has spent his entire life wishing he was born American.

>well god forbid someone gives a dissenting view.

A dissenting view is one thing and is good... BUT, Saddam being defended by a minister because he gave a church an organ????????

I guess one organ balances the gassing of 1000s of women and children!?

Send Peter Jennings back to Canada.

This guy has spewed his liberal slant network for years.

Frank,
They suspect that Saddam is badly injured or possibly dead, yet Shock and Awe proceed and the Security Council has been planning for months.
Why do you suppose this is? I though we were ridding the Iraqis of a ruthless dictator, not ridding the Iraqis of a ruthless dictator and then proceeding to drop hundreds of bombs on their cities/homes at the rate of 1,000,000,000/day.

Sounds like we're certainly doing a bit more than "removing Saddam" and "fighting terror"

I don't expect you to listen though, you openly criticize demostrators, yet applaud the murder of civilians. You are are evil as #1, and equally the coward - anyone can sit back and cheer like you two.

lander: Bush has handed over operational decisions in the war over to the military. They allowed a window of about a day, I'm surmising to allow troops to surrender, and when movement did not occur, they began that campaign. The campaign is targeting only military and regime-related targets in an attempt to sap their will to fight and avoid having to invade Baghdad, to try to avoid a costly fight on both sides (i.e., to save coalition and civilian lives alike), to remove their capacity to threaten our troops, and to hopefully destroy sites where they suspect WMDs are being stored that could otherwise be used. The objective of the war is full victory with as few casualties on both sides as necessary. If you do not start this campaign, you run the serious risk of the attitude of the enemy becoming more bold since nothing is happening, and I have yet to hear a peep about significant civilian casualties.

This is not a war run by polls. It is serious. It IS a war. The targeting has been unprecedented in its accuracy and humaneness. Maybe the Iraqis won't surrender - they are being given that option, but this isn't the U.N., they are not going to be given unlimited time in wartime to make up their minds, especially when they still have the capacity for harm and the unknown about whether they might use those WMDS.

This is the same regime that unfortunately the U.S. helped during the Iran/Iraq war in which Saddam personally targeted civilians in Iran with chemical munitions, and of course we all know about the Kurds. One cannot apply U.N. dithering in this war.

Jazz obviously they dont have chemical weapons or wmd. If they are not using them for war then what are they using them for. Do you even sleep or just pound right through the night because your not making any sense.

"One cannot apply U.N. dithering in this war"
Then surely one cannot apply U.N. resolution as a "right" to wage this war.

I'm aware that Bush has handed the "war" over to Gen. Franks. That's not the point. As for the accuracy of the weapons, surely they've increased accuracy tremendously (I heard one report than 90% of missiles were "smart" missiles, as opposed to 10% in PGW I), but one will not know the true number of casualties until all is said and done.

Back to stage one though, where is THE EVIDENCE?
This is not Nazi Germany, we cannot be expected (and shouldn't) follow blindly. I will support the President when he's honest with the American people, but it's unlikely that he'll do so.

>You are are evil as #1, and equally the coward

LOL

If (whomever) the leaders of Iraq want to end 'Shock and Awe' then just SURRENDER, as been said over and over, this is not a campaign of half measures.

If 'Shock and Awe' saves ONE American/Brit soldier's life and yet kills 100s of Iraqis so be it.

Grantt: I'd respond but the quality of your insult isn't up to my standards.

Lander: It's a circular argument that brings us back to before the war started - 'smoking gun' - that was discussed time and time again. it boils down to whom you believe and why. I believe the U.S., the U.N.'s own list of confirmed banned weapons that Saddam never showed to be destroyed, and I do not believe a messianic liar of epic proportions such as Saddam, when anyone truly desirous of destroying WMDS everyone knows for a fact they possessed would not only destroy them in an unverifiable manner, but also ALL documentation related to their destruction.

The K.I.S.S. principle applies here for me.
