take this fwiw:

Columbia
Columbia is 12-0-1 ATS in their last 13 home games
Columbia is 5-2-0 ATS in their last 7 home games against Harvard, and 5-0 ATS their last 5 overall against Harvard.
But Columbia is just 2-4 ATS their last 6 overall .

Harvard
Harvard is 1-8-0 ATS in last 9 away games
Harvard is 2-5-0 ATS in last 7 games.

A number like that really jumped out. What do you guys think?

public money? on columbia? hardly. Perhaps 7 was waqy too high a price to begin with and some people caught that...Perhaps the line was set at 7 to sucker in guys who pay attention to things like 12-0-1 ATS streaks....and also don't forget there are a lot of large "system" players ande arbitrageurs who would automatically go against any team on such a 12-0 home ATS streak. Some times lines are set too high to sucker in guys who pay attention to such things....and there is another one today IMO....the Maryland line was set too high today to perhaps sucker in guys who play the "unranked favorite" angle. JMHO. good luck.

My take on that line

I think all ATS rankings are crap and just real tricky to get a true read on.

Here's how I analyzed the game:

I waited and got Columbia -4.5 yesterday (and lost, of course). Columbia -4 or 4.5 was the right side in the game. Harvard had played on the road the day before in Cornell, and had throttled a terrible Cornell team (I was on Harvard in that game), while Columbia had done the same to a terrible Dartmouth team. Harvard's win at Cornell isn't really all that great and people will see that Cornell will struggle mightly in the Ivy League this year. They barely got by Dartmouth yesterday and Dartmouth is probably the worst team out there.

On a neutral court, Columbia is probably about 2-3 points better than this Harvard team. Give Columbia your basic 4 point homecourt advantage and there is value in the -4.5 line. The -7 line was a little too high, but that moved real quick.

The game ended up being BS as Columbia had a double-digit lead throughout the game and then went cold with about 7 minutes left in the second half. Columbia should have covered. Harvard shot lights out in the late second half (for the second day in a row) and got a lucky cover. I think the value on Columbia is slowly starting to erode though. They are a completely different team than prior years. Books are finally recognizing that.

I posted and made it bold because it was a number you dont come across to much. Contributing information was what I thought this board was meant for. It seems though, that unless you give picks (and may I state that I didnt even pick the game, or especially call it a 'LOCK' like some have lately, then you'll get these kind of responses. I was just providing something I came across and specifically said "take it for what its worth".) But the difference between people trying to contribute to the boards and people that post one sentence 'lock' posts, is if whether it wins or loses. If it wins you'll get praised, and if the team were to miss the cover by a few, then people wanna joke with you and refer in their posts to people getting suckered in and telling others to fade you. Tough bunch here thats for sure.

And Apollo Kid, appreciate your constructive post. Good luck on your future plays.

tell us something that we dont already know

stats like that are printed out and placed right next to the line sheet at every casino, every day. (plus all over the net) prob is we have just too much noise, with useless info.

tell us something good, like 3 of the starters just got arrested for drunk driving on their way to the game so we can all make some money
