A stern warning for all junk food consumers -my story

A co-worker of mine passed away about a year ago. He left behind his children, and wife. The guy was only 20 something, but he suffered from "morbid obesity" which brought about a lot of related ailments, and problems in his personal life.

Seeing what happened to him was a stern warning for myself: it was time to actually take care of my overweight problem for real. I had made several new year's resolutions to this effect, but always managed to postpone it.

A good friend of mine talked me into dieting using Herbalife products. After approximately 6 months, I was able to go from weighing 93 kilos, to my present weight of about 77 kilos.

They say the diet that works is the one you actually keep, but I have to admit Herbalife gave me a good headstart. I agree that the most important thing is WILL POWER, standing by your decision.

It's now been about 3 months since I stopped using the products they offered, and am going on sheer will. I make conscious decisions each and every day regarding what I eat, and the amounts.

So I decided to go in get some medical tests done 1 month ago, as it had been a good 12 years since I last visited a doctor for any reason, and thank God I did!

It turns out my bad cholesterol (tryglicerides) were up dangerously high. (I can only imagine where they were before I actually started to DIET!) I was at high risk of serious heart problems. I also was diagnosed with mild asthma. I am now on treatment (diet and exercise), but wanted to share my story with you, and urge you to WATCH WHAT YOU EAT!

Getting healthy again has not been cheap. If you added up Herbalife products, and doctor's visits, and lab tests, and medicine.... you really start wishing you had not fallen prey to all that FAST FOOD.

I now drink fat-free milk, and try to buy healthy products when I go to the store. I have also reduced my intake of SUGAR to an absolute minimum.

As I walk down the aisles at the super market, I see all the temptations that abound, and cannot help but feel sorry for all those that are still ignorant of the serious danger.

For your own good, watch what you eat. Your body and your loved ones will thank you later.

Yes, same guy Steak T. He became the inspiration for my diet, makes me think twice when it comes to food.

When I am feeling weak, I remember the huge amount of money I've had to pay to lose all that weight. If you're on the fence about it, and need more convicing... I can show you some receipts. It ain't pretty LOL

Will power is key to losing weight. Best of luck to you all.

One good thing about Herbalife... you lose weight but don't end up with "mondongos" hanging anywhere. :)

I see I provided the local gang some much needed entertainment. %^_

Actually I started off at 204 pounds, and am now weighing 170.:103631605

Now my doctor set a new goal: lose 4 pounds per month from here through January, so I'm working on that. I'll be happier when I get to 160, and then I'll try to settle there.

NES: Yes. I sell lunchboxes :) J/K to be absolutely truthful, yes, and no. I did register to become a "distributor" so I would pay less for my "treatment". I have since stopped buying the products, but still have a customer or two hooked on it. Results sell lol
