Nader's Candidacy Terrifies McAuliffe

What with Fox News Channel now reporting that election spoiler Ralph Nader will indeed launch another presidential campaign, the Democrats are running scared. Party boss Terry McAuliffe has just admitted meeting repeatedly with Nader to beg him not to run.

"I don't want Ralph Nader's legacy that he got George Bush for eight years in this country," McAuliffe fretted on CNN.

"I'm urging everybody to talk to Ralph Nader. I'd love him to take a role with our party, to energize people, to get out there and get the message out."

Yessss, the self-described consumer advocate could be annointed underboss in charge of special interests.

Nader is a better canidate than Bush, Kerry, Edwards et al.

The green party is a little to big governemnt for me, but I prefer it to both the demcrat ,a nd the republican parties.


I just want him to get 5% of the popular vote so he is eligible for the same benifits as the two main parties in the future.

Dean at least spoke about what the democratic party was to some extent, whereas Kerry and Edwards have to continue to lie about what it is. Nader has repeatedly stated that he will drop his campaign and throw his support behind the Dem nominee IF and WHEN they agree to his demands.


Isn't everyone for universal health care? The USA is the only industrialized country in the world without it.

If the Americans were to have universal health care, it would mean they'd have to take some of their military budget money, which is, of course, guaranteed by their Constitution. What's that you say? They're going to change it for the new marriage crap anyway, so what's the difference??

If Nader holds the Dems to 'demands' I think that's brilliant stuff on his part. As much as I love the man, though, this is the wrong time to run against the Dems ... there's way too much at stake this time around.

Kman, come on, now ... surely you can separate political strategy from ass-kissing. What Nader is doing is brilliant. Frankly, how any Liberal can bring themselves to vote for Kerry is beyond me ... I think Nader sees another pseudo-Republican in Kerry and is using his political mustard to smarten the guy up. I like it.

However, if the Kerry camp doesn't bow down, I'd expect to see Nader get more votes than in 2000 ... unfortunately, Bush will be the winner in that.

If Pat Buchanan ran as a 3rd party a true conservative I would vote for Pat Buchanan.
