A random "unique" thought on improving the RX.....

I have a some what far fetched idea to help improve the RX. Here it is:

When you go to post let's say on the right hand side where all the icons are now, you could have a box that says "post pick", you than click on that box which leads you to a up to the second "sportsbook" type page.

You than post a pick(like you would at a book and make ALL picks be the equivalent to a $100 play, no more no less) this can be in your thread or someone elses thread and when this post is submitted it is posted with a heading around it that this an official play from so and so. Now the cool part (and I am not a computer whiz and this may involve way too much to get going) when you submit this info it is saved and stored under your poster info.

Now when the results come in, underneath your avatar where you have your current info for everyone to see it would have a "fake" amount (all $100 plays or 1 unit) of money you are up or down based on your plays submitted in any thread. So lets say when I posted anything, anywhere it would say my name,location, how long I have been a member than a + or - units next to my name, you can than click on my name and could see if I have any pending plays stored if you wanted to follow. This would put EVERYONE on the same playing field with the lines and units played per game. Now the hardest part would be the program or your site would have to grade every play but I can't imagine this wouldn't be to difficult, I may be wrong.

Like i said I am sure this far fetched but I think this would seperate this forum from other "sports wgering" info forum's. In reality isn't this the main reason people come to this site is for gambling info and who everyone is following. This would once and for all put an end to everyone's record and who is the best guy to follow. If it was easy enough you could add little things like how many plays the guy has made and seperate the records in each sport. Maybe have a page with the leading cappers of all time, in each sport and who's hot and who's not.

Just thinking out loud, I'm sure it would be alot of work but I think it would be HUGE in the continued growth and success of the RX.

This has less than a 0% chance of happening. People who have losing records wouldn't post. Therx's traffic would go down a TON. I love the concept as it would be cool, but it would never ever ever ever ever happen.

Do you realize that between 8 and 9 out of 10 people lie about their record to a signifigant %?

if you just want to say you like a team than or that you want to bet it that is fine but if you click on the pick icon on the side than it is store for ever. It is your choice, you don't have to post a pick but you can't post your recoed or some funky record keeping anymore.

why? For the first 5 months I posted here I don't thin I gave out one play. I would be willing to say about 90% of the overall posts on here don't include a pick. If you don't want to have it stored than don't hit the button, it would be that simple.

How many people here would actually turn a profit? 1 in 10?

What books could you choose from?

A lot of the stuff here is hype, if you take out the hype and the bullshit, traffic goes down.

I post 2 kinds of plays. The regular plays have almost no write ups. The BIGGEST plays have a much larger write up. You will be able to tell the difference. I would not want the 2 types of plays to be worth the same. Just a quirk of mine. Ice, we will Krack some serious NUTTS this CFB season. LT

you are putiing way too much thought into it. This is first and foremost a sports wgering site and that is the main reason everyone is here. It would IMPROVE the site IMO. There is always a negative in everything if you think about it enough. I say the good out weighs the bad. What's the difference people are keeping their records and following who they like right now, win or lose.

Thanks Ice. That means alot. Its unfortunate but true. You cant call up the sportsbook and tell them that you want to start from scratch. Whats done is done. You need a true record to reflect your bets. I like your idea. It would eliminate 95% of the so-called cappers on the forum. But at least the 5% that stay would be honest and trustworthy.

Id rather have 5% good than have to weed through a bunch of trash to get to the good stuff.

Honestly, I think this is a good idea. You can even make it optional, so that people don't have to do it if they don't want to.
