How would you feel if an “independent group” put an ad out the brought up Bush’s past and his substance abuse problems? How outraged would you be if the ad showed people describing Bush’s actions as a drunk and cocaine user? Would that be fair game in your opinion or is that untouchable because that was his personal life in the past? If this ad did come out, what would be your reaction?

You mean like when they came out with the ad that compared him to Hitler?

Or do you mean when the media reported that he was pulled over for DWI, 30 years ago , 1 week before the election?

JOHN KERRY MADE HIS VIETNAM SERVICE HIS #1 ISSUE. TOUGH SHIT IF IT IS AN ISSUE NOW!

Jay - all of that stuff came out before the last election - it was smeared all over all of the media outlets ad nauseum!

This same crap is out there for every candidate in every presidential election.

It's sickening, but neither side will refrain from using it!

I believe in the death penalty if you do something bad enough. Treason is right up there on the list.

If the vet group is a fraud why doesn't Kerry just release his military record and kill the story? Kerrys records will back the vet groups claims.

I agree with JP: "Treason is right up there on the list". That's why Robert Novak and the Bush Admin lackey who outed Joe Wilson's wife oughta be hung in the public square.

Jay, how do we prove your point by telling you what the reality is?

Kerry made his Vietnam an issue , now that it is an issue he can't deal with it.

Jay,
The difference would be that the ads would be true.

Even though BUSH LIED about his DWI conviction, it is a documented fact.

Even though BUSH DUCKS questions about his cocaine abuse he still snorted it.

Bush is a spineless cowardly sack of shit. He hides from Vietnam and then uses the media to attack a war hero ... a pathetic, pathetic piece of crap. His followers are nothing but unsuccessful cowardly shadows of him.

I don't like the one we have now.
I won't like whichever one of these two clown gets elected come November.
I probably won't like Hillary in 08'

The only good scenario would be if Kerry gets the nod and chokes on a pretzel or something, so that Sen. Edwards can run the show.

He seems to be the least deceptive of the bunch - not bad considering his field

Deserter looks objectively at the military record of George W. Bush, his role in the armed forces, and his treatment of them. Over the past year, Bush’s military poses have been contrived to convince the American public that he is a National Security President. Others have found his playacting less convincing. While George W. Bush supported the Vietnam War, his contribution was to enlist in a nepotistic unit of the Texas National Air Guard, which, short of World War III, was guaranteed never to see military action. Even in this safe position, Lieutenant Bush broke under the strain and went AWOL for the best part of a year. In contrast, American National Guardsmen have not only been called up for frontline action in Iraq, but they have had their terms of service extended. While the military budget soars, the war is being fought with a dangerously inadequate number of troops. The dead and disabled are shipped home under cover of darkness; those who eventually return in one piece find that their veterans’ medical benefits and facilities are being axed. Deserter strips away the illusion of Bush as "commander-in-chief" to reveal a hypocrite who has betrayed his troops and his country.
