My earlier post expressed my frustration with the poor customer service department; Now I have a legitimate claim. Intertops website has been experiencing on-and-off all day and as I went to place my wagers at 3:30, the site was down. So, I call Intertops at 3:41PM EST and they explain that they will accept my telephone wager as a courtesy to customers. (Wow!) Now I am already wary of the minimal English diction exemplified by the representative, but I clearly state that I wish to an execute a 2-team 2dime parlay and specify the teams. The first game is at 4PM and the second at 7:30PM.
During the phone call, I am constantly put on hold because the representative struggles to locate the proper parlay screens and mistakes NBA and college basketball teams. My frustration grows as we near 4o'clock. Finally, I am placed off hold and told that she "cannot find the first team" and thus can no longer place my parlay. At that point, I begin to SCREAM that that is because the game probably just went off the board and that she should explain this to her bet manager immediately. 5 minutes later, I am informed that the bet manager refuses to accept my action. (FYI- It's now 4:05 and DonBest says the game has yet to start.) I demand to speak to the Bet Manager or any supervisor and am told yet again, that they do not allow that. I ask if our call was recorded, she says yes. At that point, full of frustration, I disconnect the phone call.
To whomever runs Intertops: This is a disgrace. I have my cell phone record clearly stating our phone call was initiated a full 20 minutes prior to the first game's start and furthermore, if the call was in fact recorded, you will notice the incompetance of your representative. I clearly stated my two plays with 20 minutes to spare! This is a disgrace. I intend on moving on to Pinnacle or Rio and avoiding this nonsense. When I am going to place a 2dime parlay, the phone call shouldn't last more than 30-60 seconds.
Now, I will give you some leeway as your representatives are clearly unprepared to place telephone wagers, but clients should NEVER be placed on hold when they want to place a quick wager PERIOD. On top of that, you cannot have incompetant representatives. There must be supervisors and bet managers to take these phone calls and clear up this bullshit.
I am sharing my experience because it can be a learning experience for all bookmakers and a warning to Intertops clients. Thank you for reading.
