A friend of mine gave me this idea while we were finishing up some business in Las Vegas yesterday. He said to have a contest just for the hell of it to see who really knows football in here. No prize other than bragging rights. The rules are simple. Pick who wins each division and each conference in 4 of the Power 5 Conferences. Predict the finishing order in each of 4 Power 5 Conferences. The catch is this. You cannot pick your home conference. That is the conference that is eliminated from your picks. So for myself and Red, no Pac 12. For GoSooner, no Big 12. For Clover and the other SEC homers, no SEC. For Run, no Big 10. This is just to see if anyone in here really knows anything at all about college football other than their home team or conference. If anyone is interested, let me know. To be honest, I do not think that many, if any people will respond because of the huge number of homers in here, but I have been wrong before and may be wrong again.

I didn't think I would get many, if any responses in here. The vast majority of you guys know nothing about college football unless it is about your favorite team or conference. Combine that with the Canary Yellow skin that many of you have, and this is what happens. Well I will give you an example of what I am talking about, in case some of you do not understand.

Since I am a USC grad (how many of you can say that you graduated from the school you actually root for? Not any Oregon fans), I will eliminate the PAC 12 and work on the other 4 Power 5 Conferences. For this example, I will use the Big 12, (a Canary Yellow Conference). My picks for the Big 12:

1. Baylor. While they have little or no defense, they can score with anyone else. Their HC is just as good as any in the conference. Notice I said just as good, NOT better. Baylor has been winning games consistently for over 4 seasons now. Their record and a strong desire to crush TCU and return last year's favor is enough to put them over the top.

2. TCU. This is a big maybe. It is quite possible that Patterson's team played well over their heads last season in what was a rather soft Big 12 Conference. TCU's defensive front 7 is rather questionable compared to last year's group, and QB Boykin has a huge target on his back. Last year no one took TCU seriously. Let's see how they do this year, when everyone comes gunning for them.

Longshots: Oklahoma State. This season their Offense is basically set. The defense returns a solid group of Backers and secondary people. They also get TCU, Baylor and OU at home.

Oklahoma: For once, OU is not wearing the target. If Stoops and Company can develop a solid ground attack and learn how to stop the opponents passing game, OU has a shot. As usual, the talent is there, but Stoops and Company have not won a Big 12 title outright since 2010 and are 1-3 against pass happy Baylor since then.

I'll play. Maybe you should switch your approach though, the reason most aren't responding has nothing to do with their "lack of knowledge" and more to do with you. The conference I will leave out is the B1G.

Red, you should really keep your chicken s**t mouth shut. I know that you are NOT a graduate of any Power 5 Conference College because you are such a coward, they would have shut you up years ago if you were. Anyone who is chicken s**t enough to take USC and the points (only 5 -120. Nice move idiot) over Oregon, his favorite team, deserves to get it kicked out of him, but if that happened to you, you would be transparent. If I were an Oregon grad and found out that you did that, your face would resemble a quarter pounder before cooking. You are a disgrace. You also do not have a clue about any other conference. People like you are a dime a dozen, and will be reduced to a penny a dozen once the season starts. Keep your mouth shut boy. You are just begging for it. Keep the hell out of my posts unless you have anything positive to offer, like some picks, you worthless piece of caca.

Clover admits that he is not close to being as good picking other conferences as he is with the SEC. He is man enough to say it. That is more than 90% of you people in here would do. Since you brought it up, here are my picks for the SEC. First the East:

1. Georgia. They should have enough on the ground offensively to grind out enough wins to take the division. Georgia's defense should be experienced enough to overcome yet another tough schedule. Their crossovers are the two Alabama schools.

2. Missouri. The "Good Enough" team. Their Offense is good enough to score the necessary points needed to win games. Their defense is good enough to hold opponents to 21 or less points. Of the teams on their conference schedule, only Georgia scored more last season. They have won the dc twice in a row. Don't count them out.

West:
1. Auburn. Their offense may take a small step backwards, but with the addition of Will Muschamp as DC, the defense will take huge strides forward. 8 starters return on the defensive side of the ball, and Auburn's two toughest games, against Georgia and Alabama, are at home.

2. Alabama. Tbhis is a safe play. 'Bama will be loaded on the defensive side of the ball with 7 starters returning. The front 7 will be as good as anyone else's in the SEC. 'Bama's problems are on offense, where they do not have a proven QB and lose two superior WR's, and the schedule, which sees them going to Georgia, A&M, and Auburn. A home game against Arkansas sandwiched in between the A&M and Georgia away games does not help either.

A long shot isTexas A&M. Tohey get a huge break in the schedule, playing Arkansas in a neutral site and going to Ole Miss, Vandyh, and LSU. They get everyone else at home, including both Alabama teams. HC Sumlin has seen his record slowly deteriorate at A&M, going from 11-2, to 9-4. and 8-5 last season. The natives will not accept that. Sumlin needs to win and win now.

And you are a phony. I am glad we agree on that. You will never make a pick because you know that I will nail you to the wall when you lose. That is what cowards deserve, and you are the biggest coward in here. But like I said, I am glad we agree.

My look at the Big 10:

East:

1. Ohio State. This is an easy pick. Ohio State plays a cream puff schedule. Their only tough game is at home against Michigan State. I am not a believer that Michigan is going to be a good team, so the game in Ann Arbor is not a big deal. Talent plus great coaching plus a cream puss schedule equals a trip to the playoffs.

2. Michigan State. Connor Cook may be the best QB in the Big 10 and HC Dantonio is one of the best around. A very tough schedule including a home game against Oregon and trips to Michigan, Nebraska and Ohio State could make this team a great bowl play.

Sleeper: Penn State. No one will be paying attention to them because of Ohio State, Michigan State, and Harbaugh, er Michigan. With 5 straight home games after opening up at Temple, PSU could be 6-0 going into Columbus. This team could be a 10 game winner.

West:

1. Wisconsin. Run, run, run. That is all Wisky knows and that is all they will do under new "Yes Man" to Alvarez Paul Chryst. The opener against Alabama will tell us a lot. Games at Nebraska and Minnesota are the onlhy other potential question marks on a soft schedule.

2. Nebraska. Another Big 10 West team that does nothing but runs. Another new HC, this one from Pac 12 doormat Oregon State. Nebraska hosts Wisconsin and Michigan State, and goes to Minnesota. Do not be surprised if this team fails to win 9 games and drops to 4th in the West.

Really? You guys must really be desperate at this time because you, as a collective unit, are about as bad as it gets. Many of you come up with your little mysterious after the fact wagers that you claim to have posted in some other thread in some other site. I have not seen one thread from any of you about a wager on any game in the 2015 season except for Red Eye's stupid USC +5 -120 futures play at 5dimes. If you clowns wager so much, where do you post your plays?

The amount you guys wager is also a joke. I spend more on tips in one season than any of you wager. You think that wagering at a book like 5dimes, with a $500.00 limit is big time. Give it up ladies. You clowns are nothing but a bunch of wanna-be homers who have nothing better to do with your time than to try and out bull s**t each other. You guys know absolutely nothing about any other Conference in football except the one that your favorite team plays in. It is Oklahoma this and Nebraska that. Who gives a crap about Oklahoma and Nebraska? Nebraska with their 24-24-1 ATS record over the past 4 years and OU with their 25-26 ATS record over the past 4 years have make you homers look sick. Alabama has a 3 year record of 19-19. Another huge winner. Oh I know, you don't wager on them all of the time. Only when they win.

There is a term in Vegas used to describe players like yourselves. That term is "Meat". You guys who allegedly play in Vegas should know what that term means. Let's see who does. In the mean time, you can start working on your excuses for this season.

Why are you so obsessed with this USC +5 play ? it can't possibly be that I made a wager against my own team...Anyone that wagers seriously will wager on or against any and all teams ? If its because I didn't get the best #... that happens to all of us doesn't it ? especially if it was the opening # in friggin May.. I was good with anything +4 1/2 or better ...
