Ole Miss -8

Ole miss is a team that I will look at in the beginning of the season b/c I think the oddsmakers will not catch up to them in the early weeks

Ole Miss 31
Memphis 14

Tulsa -14

I am not one to lay points on the road, but I see an improving Tulsa team beatin up on one of the 5 worst teams in the country. U Are Bad has no HFA

Tulsa 45
UAB 20

Alabama +5

ok so I am a homer, but I look for bama's run defense to be better than expected with big terrence cody taking on two of the clemson o-lineman every snap. The pass defense will sneakily be one of the top 3 in the SEC. With two good CBs, our safeties will walk toward the LOS ans help stop Spiller and Davis. The offense should have no problems scoring points in bushels this year

Alabama 28
Clemson 27

UL Monroe +26'

would be a small play at best and this is based on the talk of many of my auburn friends with high football IQ

Auburn 30
ULM 10

Vandy/Miami (oh) under 41'

Miami returns 8 starters from a defense that ranked 54th LY defending a vandy team that has 3 returning starters on an offense that ranked 103. The Vandy defense only returns 5 starters, but 4 of them are in the secondary and they will be defending the Miami team that prefers to throw the ball. All in all i will lean toward the under

Vandy 14
Miami OH 20

Northwestern -11'

NW is another sleeper team for me this year b/c of their offense. It returns 7 starters (mostly skill players) from LY 32 ranked offense. The lack of experience on the o-line doesn't bother me so much with this team because of thier new o-coordinator that came from bowling green. He will run the shotgun spread where superior lineman arent needed as much. The syracuse D returns only 4 starters from the 111th ranked D LY. The NW D will give up some points this year, but not so much to this porous Syracuse offense that returns only 6 starters from an offense that mustered a mere 291 y/gm. I look for NW to get a few stops and score almost every posession.

NW 48
SORRYcuse 21

Nothern Illinois +8

A live dog here that returns 18 starters, albeit 18 starters from an 2-10 team. I still look for them to keep this game close against Minny's D that ranked dead last in 2007 and returns only 6 starters with none of them in the 2ndary. Look for No Ill's returning QB, 5 OL, and 2 WR to light up Minnys 2ndary. I look for NIU to pull the outright upset

NIU 38
Minny 35

Florida Atlantic +23'

FAU keeps this one close due to their air attack. FAU ranked 16th passing the ball LY and return 9 starters from that offense. The texas D ranked 109 in passing LY and return only 5 starters and only 1 from the 2ndary. The FAU defense returns 8 starters including both CBs. I dont expect an upset, but in the words of corso, "it will be closer than the experts think"

FAU 28
Texas 44

Not real sure why but I also like the Illini +8'. I think they keep it close all game with the possibility of winning it in the end.

Other possibilities when the totals come out

Utah/Mich under (if more than 37)
Hawaii/Florida over (if less than 77)
FAU/Texas over (if less than 65)
TCU/New Mex under (if more than 37)

I would like to hear everone's thoughts and good luck to all in the upcoming season.

I defintiely agree about Ole Miss. I think they will surprised the heck out of people this year.

I do not think Bama will beat Clemson bec the Tide's D will struggle to stop Spiller and Davis, plus they are on the road where Clemson has tended to play better (they are a weird team). Clemson is also LOADED with Seniors on both sides. This is their year and frankly Bowden may be on the hotseat. If he cant win with this team will he ever be able to win? FSU is down, Miami is down, no VT on the schedule. His only competition is Wake. The schedule is relatively easy this year.

I think Ole Miss will be one of the surprise teams in the SEC this year. They have several players suspended for the first game, however. Including a few starters from what I have read. I'm going to pass on this first Ole Miss game unless there is a decent total to bet the under. I think Nutt will run and run some more against Memphis and I don't see Memphis scoring more than 14 at the most.

thank you for the totals. I guess three of them fit my criteria with the texas total being a little to high.

Love the Ole Miss team, not crazy about the thought of laying this number with them yet though. I think Northwestern destroys Syracuse too, sort of agree on FAU - I think Texas is going to be dreadful (for them) - and I think Illinois is the best play on the board.

Good luck sir.

Ole Miss usually either barely beats Memphis or loses to them. Last year they beat Memphis by 2 and the year before they won by 3. Hard to lay that many in that series.

If you are honestly thinking about betting the Bama game, STOP...this is as unpredictable game as there is in week one. If bama won it wouldnt surprise me. If they lost by 14, it also wouldnt shock me. This game could go either way.

From Rivals - Ole Miss DE Greg Hardy (foot injury) and DT Peria Jerry (knee injury)
THE BUZZ: The good news at Ole Miss is that its top few players compare with the biggest stars at any SEC program. The bad news is that the Rebels lack the depth of the top SEC schools. The worse news is that two of the best players – Hardy and Jerry – now will miss the first part of the season. Hardy had 10 sacks last season and ranked fourth in the nation in tackles for loss per game and sixth in sacks per game. Jerry had 14 tackles for loss to rank sixth in the SEC. Hardy had surgery last week for a stress fracture in his right foot and will miss at least the first few games of the season. Jerry could miss the first month after surgery Monday to repair a torn lateral meniscus in his right knee. Their absence could decimate a team that ranked last in the SEC in total defense in '07. The injury problems have turned true freshman tackle Justin Smith into a potential starter.
