Excellent write-ups. The only 2 games that kind of surprised me in the voting was Navy over New Mexico. And Virginia getting the big majority over Fresno the giant killers. :WTF:

Bowl pool

I run a pool which has anywhere from 70-90 people in it every year. We have been doing it for 12 years. Every year if you bet against the majority you would have come out ahead. We only use the last 25 games. Last year the system went 17-8. The year before it went 15-10 and the year before that 16-9. Not BAD. I'm not sure what year it was, but one year it went 20-5. First 2 plays this year are Marshall and Wyoming with Wyoming being outpicked 49-25 and Marshal being outpicked 38-36.

id say navy is a pretty safe bet after seeing how unbelievably undisciplined new mexico is. they lost thier last 2 bowl games and last year there were reports all over the place about lobo players falling down drunk on fremont street in the vegas bowl. it proved true. i will bet navy knowing the lobos love to partyarty: ~RG

one other key factor

i dont know if you followed my pow thread this year and last year, but it's unbeavable, the majority pow with the spread move lost almost every time, something like 36-2, and has been the same in the bowl pow thread losing every time as well.

one key factor that you need to keep and eye on if the closing line vs the open. If the line goes agains the majority pick, it will usually win.

Hawaii selected on 50 of 74

Hawaii is the overwhelming pick at 54-20. This would make UAB a big play. Yesterday went 1-1.

A friend of mine really likes Navy over NM......he hits a good amount of his plays and has made me a few coins in the past.....I will play Navy with him this time....FWIW my buddy likes Boise and the points also.....

Interesting to look over that list that they are 3-0 with the slim majority picks.....still early in the bowl season.....

You can't win them all, UAB is just a horrible 2nd half team. Oh well we are 1-1 now on 2 3units. Monday has the biggest play of the bowls, the 2:00 pm (est) MPC Computer Bowl.....Take Fresno +5.5 over Virginia.....77% of the people chose Virginia.

I wouln't hold my breath on "the players got drunk the night before" excuse. This game isn't in Las Vegas this year. And the last 2 teams they faced in that bowl were UCLA and Oregon St. New Mexico has a top #20 defense this year. And they're especially good against the run. Which is about all Navy does. I think the Lobos have a good shot in this game. I hope the majority stays on Navy. I think New Mexico could be the play.

watch out for the virginia game, line is moving against them, and trends would make them a win.

this is based on almost 2000 pow picks by over 200 rx cappers over the last two years that i have kept stats on.

Virginia and Toledo both picked on 45 of 74 sheets

Virginia and Toledo are both overwhelming choices in my pool. So far play against majority is 1-2. UCONN and Fresno would both be strong plays using this sytem which is similar to pefbear's

Tonight's games the majority are on Mia/oh 44-30 and Or St 41-33. This would make both Iowa State and ND solid plays. System went t 2-0 yesterday with Fresno and UCONN. Now 3-2 on the year.
