Round of 16: April 30th - May 6th
Round of 8: May 7th - May 13th
Semi-Finals: May 14th - May 20th
Championship Final: May 21st - May 30th
RULES
Starting Monday, April 16th, a 1 week Play For Position (P4P) Round will get under way. There will be a 20 play minimum for this round only (3 plays/day max). This will determine seedings for matchplay which starts on Monday, April 23rd. You will then be matched with an opponent based on your seeding, in a 7 day H2H elimination round.
For the P4P Round only, anyone who falls under the minimum (20) plays will be assessed a loss of -110 for each play short. However, anyone who does not make a pick throughout the entire P4P Round will be eliminated from any further competition. Also, should 2 or more players be tied after this round, the tiebreaker to determine higher seed will be best record for last five (L5) plays made. If still tied, the player with most total plays will get the higher seed.
Beginning with the Round of 32, a minimum of 10 plays is required to qualify. Any less than 10 plays will result in disqualification.
All elimination rounds will run from Monday to Sunday. As an added feature for the 11 day Championship Round, there will be multi-unit wagering available for the 2 finalists.
YOU MUST INCLUDE THE ROTATION #
WITH YOUR PLAYS!
If the rotation # and described play do not match, the NUMBER will be used for grading purposes.
If you do not include a rotation #, the play will be graded 'no action'.
It's preferable that you use the top Rot# for OVERS and the bottom rot# for UNDERS, but either # will be acceptable. Please note however, the chosen Rot# and total (OVER or UNDER) will overrule whatever team is posted as a pick.
- Winners of each round, based on total weekly dollar amounts won, will continue on, losers go home. Should opponents be tied at week's end, the higher seed will be declared the winner.
- YTD records will be used for reseeding. Matchups for the next round will then be determined, highest seed vs lowest seed and so on. Weekly records will be reset to 0.
- Overnight Lines will be posted most of the time. Otherwise, lines will be posted the morning of the scheduled games (approx 9-11 AM ET). Only games listed will be available for play. No lines will be added later. If a play is made on a game OTB, it will be graded 'no action'.
- All plays are action regardless of any change(s) in starting pitchers.
- Runline, Moneyline and Totals will be available.
- When wagering on Totals (over/under), the game must go 9 innings (8.5 if the home team is ahead) to have action. If a game is called or suspended in extra innings, the score will be determined after the last full inning unless the home team scores to tie, or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in which case the score is determined at the time the game is called.
- Rules for Runline wagers are the same as those for Totals.
- The result of a game is official after 5 innings of play unless the home team is leading after 4.5 innings. If a game is called or suspended, the winner is determined by the score after the last full inning unless the home team scores to tie, or takes the lead in the bottom half of the inning, in which case the winner is determined by the score at the time the game is called.
- If the home team ties the game and it is then suspended, the play will be no action. No carry over to the next day.
- To avoid the possibility of a poster falling short of the minimum # plays due to a rainout, any plays made on a game that is rained out will be graded a push. Substituting a play for a rainout will not be allowed.
- Plays made on both RL's, ML's or Total's for any one game will be prohibited. Any infraction will result in both plays being graded as losses.
- Plays on a favorite are to win $100. Plays on the underdog are risking $100.
- 3 play max per day.
- One post per day. Additional posts for add-ons will be ignored.
- Deadline to post will be 5 minutes prior to POSTED start time of first game on your playlist. If any plays are posted past the deadline, they will be graded as follows: a push if the play is a winner, a loss if the outcome is a loss. Editing your post is permitted in the first 5 minutes. If the post is edited after the 5 minute window, all plays will be graded as above. A second post after the 5 minute window expires asking to cancel a play will not be allowed.
- Any plays posted after the deadline of the last game of the day will be graded "no action".
Starting with the Round of 16, a No Copy Rule will go into effect every Saturday and Sunday, being the last 2 days of each round, and will be enforced. If you make a RL, ML or O/U play on the same game as your opponent, it must be on the opposite side. In addition, if your opponent has already made a play on the RL (dog) for Team 1, you are prohibited from playing the ML on that same Team 1. Conversely, if your opponent has made a play on the ML (dog) for Team 2, you may not play the RL (+1.5) for that same Team 2. First player to post, obviously has choice. Any violations will be graded as explained below:
The violation: Making the same exact play as your opponent:
- If the play in question is a winner, the offending player gets a push, his opponent gets the win.
- If the play is a loser, the offending player gets the loss, his opponent gets a push.
The violation: Playing the ML (fav) on the same team your opponent already played the RL (dog):
- If the game is a RL win, the offending player will only get a push while his opponent gets a win.
- If the game is a RL loss but a ML win, both players will receive a push.
- If the game is both a RL loss and a ML loss, both plays are scored normally.
The violation: Playing the RL (fav) on the same team your opponent already played the ML (dog):
- If the game is both a RL win and a ML win, the offending player will only get a push while his opponent gets a win.
- If the game is a RL win but a ML loss, both players will receive a push.
- If the game is both a RL loss and a ML loss, both plays are scored normally.
Don't forget, editing is allowed for 5 minutes after posting. If you see you inadvertently posted a play already used by your opponent, you have time to go back and change it. Making a second post will not be allowed, however.
Emailing picks will not be allowed.
Championship Round
- The Final Round will run for 10 days from Monday, May 21st - Wednesday, May 30th.
- Each day, the 2 Finalists will have the option of making (1) 3 unit play and (1) 2 unit play for a chance at winning 6 units per day. 3 play max remains in effect. You must designate your multi-unit plays with stars *** or parentheses (3).
- Throughout the Final Round, copying picks will be prohibited. Same No Copy Rules apply as above.
- Editing is allowed for 5 minutes after posting. If you see you inadvertently posted a play already used by your opponent, you can go back and change it. Making a second post will not be allowed. Same grading rules apply for past posting as above.
- Minimum 15 plays to qualify for the title.
- Should the two players be tied at the end of the contest, a 2 day run-off will be held to determine the winner.
