Movement from 13 to 10.5 is meaningless because it doesn't cross any key numbers.

Had it went to 10, I would scream "AKRON! AKRON! AKRON!" but it didn't.

I see what your saying in relation to key numbers...But for a line to drop 2.5 to 3 points with such a majority being on the opposite would is definitely "smart" or "sharp" money being on AKRON...

With that type of line move and going against Joe Public, I would say Akron would be the play..

BTW, Utah State (24) and Eastern Michigan (17) crossed through arguably "key numbers" (some will argue that there are no key numbers above 14) and have <40% of the action on them with movement of 1.5 or greater.

didn't that happen on wed with ball st.. Public was heavy on C.Mich and line went down in their favor. People said sharp money was on Ball St and look what happened

just my observation... do you think vegas moves these lines to bait the sharps?

Public money meaningless to books

For the 1.000,000th tikme;any book worth it's reputation
does not move on public money. If you bet 100,000 on a
side, a book will not move; if a wise guy bets his limit say
5000, they move.

why isnt 13 or 11 considered key numbers?

13 would be a td, fg, fg situation

and 11 would be like a 10 to 21 or some combination of that

Has to do with the frequency of margin of victory. College games end with an 11-point MOV only about 2.5 percent of the time; a 13-point MOV only about 1.7 percent.

To throw in my own 2-cent opinion on "public money," I think bettors would be much better off putting their efforts into capping the matchups instead of trying to figure out what some other group of bettors is taking.
