76 Classic Shooting Problems

Watching the 76 Classic games today, it was obvious that there was a problem shooting the problem. Below is a chart with each team's shooting percentage for today's games.

It seems like Arizona State was the only school who did not have a problem finding the bottom of the basket.

I am interested to hear if some of the veterans believe that this trend will continue onto tomorrow's games, or if today was just a one-shot deal.

Unfortunately, I did not get to see any of the games with the exception of the Prov/Baylor game.

Providence continued to throw up bad shots, similiar to last season and Baylor had 22 or 23 turnovers.

Charlotte played a very good defensive team in ASU that will be near the top in FG% D.

Wake scored near what is expected and CSUF, played a more talented team and was slowed down for the most part.

I don't believe St. Mary's to be a great shooting team, particularly with the loss of Golden. UTEP is an up tempo that got near its average.

This particular Gym is not the issue, I personally feel it has a lot to do with shot selection.

The reason why UNC and ND score a lot, it isn't just because they have great shooters, they understand finding the open man.

Providence tonight took at least 6 pointers from NBA range. They made 1. That tells you all you need to know about them.

At least to me, the numbers are in line with the games and the teams and their ability to shoot and select good shots are the reason the numbers may appear off to you.

I followed every game...

I had st mary's -7 2h
UNDER wake forest 2h
OVER Arizona state 2h
UNDER in providence 2H

I noticed that the only game that went OVER for the 2H was the Arizona game, and fortunately that was HUGE in my playing of the other UNDERS.

When watching the games, the court seems just a bit different. Looks like they're out in the middle of a field playing and nobody's around.

Also, like BIG 10 mentioned...I could probably add up all these games and get atleast 30-40 shots that were 2-3 steps beyond the 3point range.

I was there personally, I know Winkyduck claims the sightlines are bad causing games to go under, but 5 of 7 Big West games went over. I think CSF went under is because of Wakes size.

The BW tourney did have a curtain up though, there is no curtain for this tourney. Besides the site lines the rims seem a little tight, saw couple of missed FT's bounce over the backboard.

agree with all of what you say except the NC-Nd part. I think they scores are high because both teams shoot early in the shot clock. Put theseteams up against UConn or Georgetown and see.

i stupidly had the over in one of these games yesterday, i had forgotten that this tourney had a ton of unders last year, i think they called it something different than the 76 classic though, but it was at the same arena, usc played south ill in the championship game and it was like 70 45 i think. i dont have exact stats but i think there were a ton of unders in this tourney. the stands do look kinda goofy if you really look at it.

i would have to say unders only the rest of the way in this tourney.
