If I leave my laptop on and it goes to sleep, it disconnects me from the internet (aircard) when i try to connect i get a message that says something like, "modem in use port not available." the only way to reconnect is to restart the computer.

Question: is there another way to reconnect without restarting the computer? I tried turning the aircard connection aplication off but the port/modem remains open.

I used to have the same problem with dial ups. then cable/dsl came along and no open port problems.

I've run into this also. The whole "hibernate\sleep" thing can cause issues. I haven't found a fix for it, but if there's a way to "turn off" your aircard, you should be able to turn it back on & connect just fine when you come back.

this problem is in xp as coming back from hibernate the kernal doesnt have the load or script if you will to bring everythig back up. Few things you can do is set the power setting and hibernate features through the control panel or just set your hard drive to never sleep.
