We are tolerating it, with lax sentencing, and no incentives to NOT commit crime.

No minimums, all sentences are MAX time, and punishment should be excessive to deter crime. For example:

Child molestation or rape, murder = Death Penalty, and death within 6 months of sentencing

The majority of those incarcerated within the USA are for one or more violations of "drug" laws. Approx 2/3 of that population are sentenced under mandatory minimum guidelines.

As for your dream of applying the death penalty within 180 days you should contact your elected reps and see how many will introduce such legislation. Report back ASAP with your findings
