Got to think San Francisco is having some second thoughts after basically running
Jim Harbaugh out of town with a 49-22 four year record. Head coach Jim Tomsula
has been fired after one season and a 5-11 record. Someone needs to pack the
general manager's suitcase.

NFL.com's Mike Silver reports Chip Kelly (ex-Philly) has expressed interest in the
vacant head coaching job.

Nah. I doubt there were any regrets at all. Harbaugh's days were numbered after he turned into an idiot in the last minute of the NFC Championship game against Seattle (and prior to that with the final play calling in a Superbowl that he needed a power outage just to get his team's head screwed back on). Hard to believe someone could coach such a good game for 59 minutes and then turn into an idiot in the last minute of the Seattle game. If you recall, they actually tried to trade him in the off season after that loss. Sure, people will belly ache about Tomsula, but I don't think anyone (including ownership) thought he was the answer. But what they did know was they wanted Harbaugh out. Ultimately we have a lot of spoiled fans in the Bay Area that simply aren't satisfied with anything but a Superbowl victory. After going through years with Montana and Young, they aren't happy with just having a good season and winning a game or two in the playoffs.

Spoiled fans? They sucked for nearly a decade before Harbaugh brought back respectability. If the owner and upper mgmt. hadn't forced him out, he'd still be there. So he ain't easy to get along with; who ever said winning would be easy? Bad move, and likely to haunt them for a long time.

yep, as i posted in dec 2014 after they canned harbaugh

http://www.therxforum.com/showthread.php?t=1010701

49ers simply forgot that they were under .500 for 8 straight years before harbaugh arrived. he turned them around instantly

no excuse for their offense being as bad as it was but they have about a 1% chance of hiring a better coach since JH is at the top of the profession

Yep, it's exactly what they are. Of course, don't read my comment the wrong way. I'm just giving you my summation after living in the Bay Area for 50 years. I didn't say it was a smart thing to do (but will hold true to my comment that Harbaugh turned into an idiot at the end of that Seattle game, even though he coached a great game for 59 minutes). The fans here would have been bellyaching within a year if Harbaugh had got them to another NFC Championship game and lost again (trust me on this one). Fans and owners make stupid moves like this all the time. Think back to Marty in Cleveland. All you heard was he could never get them over the hump, so they fire him and then are inept for years to come. Sometimes you have to be careful what you wish for (as an owner and/or fans)...being in the playoffs and being competitive year in and year out [regardless if you win a Superbowl] is not the worst thing in the world. Of course, I'm sure everyone will miss the Ron Jeremy 70s porn mustache on Tomsula, lol.

Spoiled fans?

Hell yeah you are spoiled if you are SF fan.

A bunch of teams out there have never even won a Super Bowl. Some never even been.

And how many has SF won? 4 or 5? You are spoiled compared to most other franchises around the league.
