The issue seems to be Canadians with USD accounts can easily get EFTs in CAN but USD checks are a problem, likely the NETeller account is nearly dry and cannot be replenished.
I see no reason to continue to maintain a NETeller account in USD given the 1.9% exchange. In fact to avoid exchange charges my NETeller account is tied to a US bank, which I need to change when I get back from winter vacation.
Of course not all books allow CAN $ accounts, in particular 5Dimes, Matchbook and WSEX, while Betfair, Olympic, Pinny and Mansion allow CAN $ accounts.
be careful woody, many books claim to offer Canadian accounts, but at the end of the day they do not have "true canadian processing".....
what I mean by this is if you, for example, make a deposit to your bookie via Canadian Credit Card, into your Canadian sports book account.... the charge will still appear on your credit card in USD, and the bookie will do the conversion. I have found this to be the case with most bookies....
one exception is Bet365, they have "true Canadian Processing" so once you deposit via credit card over there, the charge actually appears on your statement as a Candian Dollar charge.

continuously paying exchange rates between neteller and bookies is enough to eat up your profits.....
This is also why (in the past) I always had Neteller send me a check in USD for 2$ via regular mail.... This way I could keep the funds in USD or shop for the best exchange rate myself..... If I got the EFT from neteller, I was subject to their exchange rate, on top of a 1.9% fee that they add on top their exchange rate.... this was a killer.
It looks like I may have no choice but to use EFT's going forward tho? :ughhh:
for the time being I have nothing in neteller....

im not 100% sure, but when you go through the process of requesting an EFT from a USD Neteller account to a Canadian dollar acount, it tells you what exchange rate they use, where its from, and that they charge 1.9% extra on top of the exchange rate.....
I cant double check right now because my neteller account is empty.

Before verifying my account I called and learned that they could not link my USD account to a USD account at a Canadian bank, but they could link it to a bank outside the country. Those were simpler days when NETeller was headquartered in Calgary.
